New PS3 exclusive will be announced on the 10th - lastofus.com

yeah the game i think is called "the last of us"

judging by the lone ant, the website and the other trailer.

im guessing post apocalypse, like all this 2012 madness, with the world ending and all that, you ca basically throw anything into the storyline.

Doubt its HL3, more a spinoff like the original HL had with OF and BS. Just cant see HL3 ever being a platform exclusive, Valve just dont need that...

Valve and Sony are getting on quite well right now and Microsoft kind of restrict them on what they can do because they won't let steam onto the 360. HL3 as a console PS3 exclusive could well happen though obviously it would also be on the PC as well.

And maybe everyone should look at the Keighley tease at 0:54 seconds. It's a scene for Master Chief from the Halo 4 tease at E3 but Halo 4 has already been announced as a Microsoft published game. What it could well be is a Bungie exclusive which could be the shooter that Sony have always wanted.

Since Bungie are being published by Activision you have to assume that this is just a timed exclusive rather than a full one. Though a year timed exclusive on Bungies next IP could be massive for Sony.

It's all just speculation though. Though apparently there could be another tease on the thelastofus.com site as there is a date there for today.

For it to be an exclusive that no one would believe it has to be something that isn't an established PS3 franchise.

It may not be a Sony developed game, it could be a3rd party that Sony is publishing, it could be that they are just saying "from Sony" because that's who the announcement is from".

either way there are going to be meltdowns when it is announced. Either very happy or "that wasn't unexpected" lol.

MGS5 could arguably be a PS3 exclusive just as MGS4 was, but with Rising still a long way away (which is on 360 as well) I can't see it being anything MGS-related.

Here's the rule - When they announce an announcement, the actual reveal will always be crap.

I await to be proved wrong, but you think they'd have learnt by now that the reality never lives up to the speculation.

Haven't Konami already said the next MGS game is going to be on both? Although thats Rising rather than MGS 5 but it would seem odd to have one on both then restrict the next to PS3 only.

Rising isnt really a MGS game, but a spin-off - wouldnt be that hard for Konami to maintain MGS the series as a platform exclusive...

If people think its new IP (not a sequel) then the developer must be of interest to make such an announcement actually worthwhile - main reason why I think its Valve/Rockstar

Also do developers/publishers also consider platform exclusive to just mean console exclusive? Or is it a term the public has come up with?

from the sounds of that tease, it better be good, like a game from rockstar

"amazing developer" "shocked" "cannot believe it's not been leaked"

otherwise he should be personally hunted down and nailed exlusively to a board on times square for all the trolling Sony has done to ps3 users over the years
American Award Host in spin shocker :p

Who is known to do trailers using the in-game engine?

Games are becoming less and less exclusive these days though as the player base is split across three consoles and the revenue available is massive. It's going to take a lot of cash for a Console Manufacturer to cover that loss of revenue to make a game an exclusive for their platform.

If we really look at exclusives now, they tend to be 1st party titles, or Published by the Manufacturer, a number obviously also have a kind of 'golden handcuffs' agreement.

Again going by Geoff Keighley's comments it has to be an existing franchise and it has to be something that previously has only been on one platform

That rules out GTA or Metal Gear imo

Do you mind posting those comments youre inferring from? Must be something Ive missed as Ive not read anything so decisive...

Hasnt that always been the case? Only reason we are seeing less is because its costs significantly more to make such games - why we now see timed exclusives rather than permanent ones, which are probably just as valuable to platform owners...

Not really, they've done the same thing before. Ultimately, as far as MGS5 is concerned I imagine it comes down to how much Sony fight/pay to keep it on the PS3.

I can't believe that some people are still thinking what the game is going to be called. We already know the title, we don't know who's developing/publishing, we don't know what type of genre it is and we don't know if it's part of a series which has been on the Xbox 360 or traditionally a Microsoft exclusive.

I'm betting that it will be a big let down, like other people have already mentioned it would have to be something pretty darn spectacular to live up to the hype that Keighley has been delivering. I can't think of any games or series' that appear to be similar to the first teaser video that are also traditionally exclusive to Microsoft or Nintendo.
