Its nice to have something to talk about

. No doubt when its released people will realise how obvious the clues were. No doubt it will be a let down, but its a fun ride til Saturday!

Knowing Sony it could just be a game based on one of their films etc - I just havent seen anything that conclusively says it has to be a previous series or a previous platform exclusive...

Has todays clue been released?

Don't think today's clue has been released yet! I'm looking forward to the reveal but I'm setting my self up for disappointment in the hope that it's actually something really amazing.

It's just funny that in the OP it's like The Last of Us is plastered everywhere but 5 posts later it's like "I THINK IT WILL BE MGS5!!!"

i got from his comments that either:

A) its a brand new game ps3 exclusive, from a well known developer

or

B) it's previously been multi platform or xbox exclusive and now they have got the rights to it, that's why it is so epic.

the only thing that could live up to this hype would be Halo, but i think microsoft own halo so i dont see it tbh.

this is going to be complete fail, im predicting it now, it will probably be some dreamcast exclusive they now have the rights to.

Just nice to have something at least worthwhile to discuss rather than how the latest sequel wasnt as good as the last or which console to buy

@Psycho Sonny - perhaps its a Bungie title then rather than Halo? A previous MS exclusive developer making a PS3 exclusive instead. Really hope its not Halo TBH...

I think I read a while back that Bungie fell out with Microsoft, or something to that effect, I may be wrong though. I got exactly the same thing from the comments which is where I'm slightly confused. Like you said it's either:

A brand new and exclusive IP from a very well known first party developer
A traditionally exclusive franchise coming to PS3 as an exclusive

From the video it definitely seems like an end of the world scenario, that leaves so many possibilities though. It could be zombies, it could be all out war, it could be a Mad Max type game. Could be absolutely anything!

My guess is something from the Uncharted developers (Naughty Dog?), explains the exclusivity and hype about the graphics.

just what I got from the video posted at the top of the page, the fact he said he can't believe it hasn't been leaked, it's an exclusive no one saw coming these aren't the kind of statements that points to a new IP IMO

Bungie sounds possible, more so than GTA or MGS.

Could also be whatever Respawn (The guys that broke away from Infinity Ward) have been working on, as their first title I could see them taking an exclusivity deal.

Mmm that's a good point. If it's something brand new then nobody would really have been expecting it anyway, it would be a much easier secret to keep as opposed to, for example, Halo coming out as a Playstation exclusive. Perhaps it is a new IP though, and he's just shocked that no information has been leaked as it's such an amazing new franchise?

Think I worked out from Kills and Sonnys posts theres two ways to read what he said - why I was confused as we both took it to mean different things - agree though its most likely new IP, Im more interested in the devs involved, pretty much decides games I buy nowadays...

EDIT: Mis-read your post regards not being new IP; I think its that but attached to surprising dev rather than existing IP swapping platforms for a sequel...

Yep, in fact I'm still a bit confused and might watch the video again to refresh what he's actually said. As it can't be a Sony studio developing and still be a famous Nintendo/Microsoft exclusive surely! Which rules out that possibility in my opinion.

Problem I have is that Activision/EA arent likely to allow a platform exclusive title are they? Have they published many exclusive in recent times?

oh what about that game with the alien thing, in a meat factory, abe's oddysey, a new one of that would be epic.

this literally could be anything, but one things for sure, it will be a let down, nothing with this much hype can surely deliver

Activision have nothing to do with them (other than trying to sue them to hell and back). EA are affiliated with Respawn via their partners program, doesn't make it impossible for them to go platform exclusive, but you're right it is probably less likely.

Although for better or worse it seems devs that join the EA partners program are pretty much left to do as they please and EA help out at some point with marketing/publishing.

Actually I take that back, Bungie put so much effort into breaking one exclusivity deal that it seems very unlikely they'd get themselves into another.

HL3 I could see, the only problem is that first trailer has nothing to do with HL.

Anyway point proven, it's going to have to be pretty mind blowing to live up to the speculation in this thread alone
