** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

This is why 32:9 is a no go for me. On a 21:9 monitor you occasionally get fisheye-ing too, but when you do its generally mild/not too bad. On a 32:9 though the fish-eyeing is much more pronounced and looks really bad to my eyes. 21:9 is really the sweetspot imo.

So just checking G9 with latest firmware is now ok? Thought on chances it will be reduced for Black Friday?

Fw 1008.1 fixed everything, VRR mode now available, G-Sync ON / HDR On / 5120 x 1440@240Hz 10bpc / No flickering at all, just as perfect as it should be.

Hello everyone. I don't want to create another thread and spam the forums.

I have bought G7 32" and the monitor works with one exception. When I have adaptive sync turned on in the monitor settings and in the nvidia panel, the monitor does not get signal after rebooting the computer. Monitor powers on and after 1-2 sec everything goes black (including leds on the monitor). It boots up, goes black and so on.

If the PC is powered off and I turn it on - everything is working fine, no problems. If PC is sleeping and I wake it up - again everything is ok, no problems. The problem is only after restarting the computer that monitor won't get signal.

I have the latest bios on the MSI Z370 Gaming M5 motherboard, the latest bios on the RTX3080 TUF OC, the latest firmware in the monitor, from November of this year.

I tried to switch ports on monitor and GPU - nothing. The problem is only happening when FreeSync is turned on. If I plug my old monitor through HDMI - both monitors wake up after restarting the PC. Any suggestions?

And sorry for any text mistakes, English is not my native language.

I think I am getting this. If I switch off my PC then start up again later, the screen doesn't come on until I switch my PC off and on again.

I have the Samsung on DP from 3080 and my 2nd monitor on HDMI from my motherboard HDMI (9900k graphics).

I haven't tested with Freesync on or off to prove if related. I have the Freesync setting on in the monitor but I have G Sync and V Sync off in Nvidia control panel.

Any luck?

I had my order refunded all of a sudden, even though I was waiting for a replacement.
I complained and mentioned that the price has gone up and they've replied saying the max voucher they can issue is for £70.
That won't be enough to reduce the price back to what I paid.
The only issue I had was one dead pixel... I never noticed it and was going to keep the monitor but someone convinced me to send it back.

My ticket's still open, the only update I've had was them referring it to another department. I won't get my hopes up then...

I might try fixing the input selection to DP 1 to see if that helps. Might be something to do with auto detect of sources?

Looks like as some other said that some games still have issues with 240hz and hdr. I reinstalled windows and I racing started to work but after installing star citizen that won’t start up if my desktop is at 240 with hdr. So there’s still something that needs fixing I think. Latest firmware, latest drivers, 3080.

Tempted to try a G9 again... but the fish eye effect in Horizon Zero Dawn was awful.

How are people finding the monitor for similar types of games?

I got two G9's, each one had issues, but the screen size and the immersion was beautiful, however most of my games had awful fisheye - these included, WoW, AoW3, Doom, Dawn of Man etc.. In fact most of my games had it in, so with the issues I was experiencing - cracking (two hours after turning the monitor off), slight coil whine, I regrettably exchanged it for the Asus ROG PG43uq. This monitor again does have some issues, had to mess around getting the fonts to look ok and it does have slight smearing, but its 4k 10bit at 144hz with 1000nits the picture is great. There are games that apparently do not suffer from fisheye, but all my games did.

I`m delighted that my g9 is free of the flaws people mention on this forum. Apart form the 3080 / 240hz hotfix I have
not updated any soft/firmware. The question that arises is - Why are some monitors so good yet others are so poor? There seem to be several different issues.
How is it that new firmware helps some people but not others? Very odd.
If all monitors had common problems then at least the issues could be traced to a
`source`

Does anyone else see weird monitor behaviour when scrolling up and down the page on this forum thread around the linked comment (#368165)?: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/368165/#Comment_368165

I'm getting screen dimming and scanlines appearing. Most noticeable when in a smaller window so you can compare it to the desktop. Have no idea why that particular post is setting it off.

Monitor: LC27G75TQSUXEN
FW: 1009.3

Edit: I can no longer reproduce this. Must have been other things that were open at the same time having an effect in combination with that text?

Edit 2: I went to post edit 1 and then brought up the Beamdog forum and reproduced it again. Maybe inconsistent.

I had similar issue with scanlines and dimming issue on Odyssey G9. I have returned my monitor because of this.
There is a thread about this https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidem...samsung_odyssey_g9_horizontal_linesscan_line/
You can find there more more ways how to reproduce it.
It looks like electronics is very similar in those two models (G7 and G9) and it does not like many contrast changes.
