** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

The monitor was 60-240hz AFAIR on FW1002 /1005 and 1006 (it was never 80-240hz not sure if that was Nvidia typo as both models are same apart from size).

I then edited it to 40-240 using CRU.

I thought this was the case. I was at first disappointed that mine was the FB01 type, but actually, it seems good so far, physically. Just need to update the firmware tonight and see if it cures the minor flickering.

I have FB02 and its not anywhere near as bad as others I have seen in videos, those photos people are dragging around screen to trigger the flickering in the video's do not effect my screen (Asus Rog Wallpaper site and one other I can find if I look).

xm3 "Hi, I hope this message finds you well, I bought my g7 from the samsung uk store I complained of the flickering and they collected it from me for repair, it arrived back and they put in a new scaler and I no longer had flickering. I have the FB01 batch which is known for its flickering and they recently started selling FB02 batches. I believe the FB02 has a better scaler which they put into my G7."

How do I find out if my model is FB01 or FB02? Also do we call Samsung and they set up a repair in order to get the new scaler?

On the sticker on the rear next to the barcode.

I have no clue as I have never dealt Samsung and who is to say they did swap it out, cannot be sure what was done if anything or if it is even a true statement by that user.

The person who wrote that comment was just trying to get responses from people, Ignore it, it's misleading. They only offered him a replacement which he hasn't taken up yet, nothing was said about scalers.

Is there a definitive test I can do to confirm if I have the flickering issue or not? I don't have some of the games mentioned by people for where the flickering is most common (Tarkov etc). I have played F1 2020, with in game set to a 100FPS limit, on my GTx1080 (I'm not expecting 200+ FPS with G-Sync from this). During actual gameplay/racing I don't see any issues. But I may have some flickering when on the menu screens, of the background content, but I don't know if it's the monitor, or just part of the game. I have now switched off the Adaptive Sync and will try the game again today.

This was the same with the original 1004.0 Firmware (a version not listed @geekofbroadband) and the latest 1006.0 Firmware I installed from the Samsung Korea website. My 27" G27 is an FB01 version. The display itself has zero pixel issues I have been able to detect, which I am very pleased with.

I'd like to test something that would clearly show the flickering problem, but don't know what to use.

With adaptive sync off there will be no flickering.
In a brief test with adaptive sync on, I did get flickering in Overwatch when loading into the match. Overwatch has menu fps locked to 60, so menu itself is fine, but fps drops during loading

One thing has come to my mind, is there anyone who has activated the ADAPTIVE SYNC in both the monitor menu and the Nvidia control panel at the same time?

I think when we activate the ADAPTIVE SYNC in the Samsung menu, we should activate the ADAPTIVE SYNC option from the Nvidia control panel.
Please give someone a try and share the result ، tnx
