** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I can see that is a bit tempting, rather than gambling with retailers and Samsung..

but doesn’t it feel a bit inadequate after having 49 inches at higher resolution? I would feel like I’m wasting my gpu not having another g9.

the g9 definitely has more wow factor but the image quality is fantastic on the LG and whilst it’s not as wide as the g9 it’s taller so there’s another element to the immersion. One thing I also noticed was the g9 had mega fisheye on most FPS games where as this isn’t anywhere near as bad. It’s defo not as snowy as the G9 but my first impressions from tonight I think I may prefer it!

Do you still get issues with overdrive set to standard and then putting adaptive sync on? I know reviews state you can't change the overdrive with adaptive sync on but you can before you turn on overdrive in the settings.

That's what I did on my g9. Oddly I also found the screen better to use with adaptive sync off as it just wouldn't work. Might be a driver issue with my 5700xt, but it was far far smoother with freesync off.
I just tried that and it works! Thanks :)

My g9 went back today just due to a small bit of backlight bleed. Looking like early October before there’s another batch available. I will be ordering another.

Do you mean the 'bezel bleed issue' or actual just normal backlight bleed you can get on any monitor?

Curious as I was amazed my G9 had no traditional backlight bleed at all. I have been using IPS displays for too long and the VA panels on these are amazing in comparison!

Agree, given the immense curvature and edge lit nature bleed was pretty minimal on my panel.

I'm using an LG 27GL850 now and the IPS glow is so noticeable.

I did mean the bezel bleed issue - sorry.

I have gone for the LG 38” as an alternative and I have to be honest - I’m really really impressed. I think I might actually prefer it!
Exactly the same here - returned my G9 due to the dreaded bezel peel and ended up getting an LG 38 GN950 (thinking I would most likely return it when I could get another G9) but then decided I preferred the LG all round. Decided to keep the LG and I am really happy I did. I did love the G9 and it certainly has a wow factor but for everyday use the extra height of the LG plus the fact it just works without any issue (and the colours and general pq are top notch) won me over.

I love the 32:9 for flight and racing sims, however some games feel better on the 21:9, but then I can switch to 3440x1440 desktop if required, love the R1000 curve and the Hdr1000 is awesome in MSFS.
32:9 is awesome for work/internet too as great to use two 2560x1440 screens side by side is cool.
No problems with my G9, unlike others it seems, wouldn't change back to a 21:9, it just wouldn't seem as good for me.

Does anyone have word of when new stock is landing from the samsung factory? Units made in August should be shipping soon...

I mentioned a few pages ago that a retailer was getting some in October 14th then got told i was knocking OC because i was trying to be helpful... lol

Guess these should be later produced screens, can't wait until they're finally a "safe bet"

Few places on ebuy er saying they getting stock on the 26th September. I had 5 CRG49s, most of them had bad coil whine and made clicking sounds, not just warming up either, they would continually click.

Has anyone had any issue regarding this?

Yes the one I had did this weird popping/clicking sound, usually when it was warming up but sometime just did it even when it was already warmed up. Tbh I guess I could have lived with it if that was the only thing but another example of poor build quality tbh.

Good job, as after a while that clicking becomes annoying. I had my lack CRG49 click every 26 seconds, lol.

Aside from the light bleed and popping my G9 has developed a new issue, the whole thing is rattling now lol. Mine is on a racing simulator, I don’t have motion but I do use a direct drive FFB wheel, I’m guessing that has been enough to upset something in the 4 hours or so I’ve raced using it.

Starting to have serious doubts about this monitor now, kinda wishing they’d made it more expensive and upped the quality! If my replacement unit isn’t any better I’m gonna refund it and wait until ASUS or Acer come out with a 49” I think.
