NEW STEAM DEALS!!!!

Riddick is good, playing through butcher bay again, even thought my FPS is more than playable I'm surprised at just how demanding the game can be. Either that or poorly written code in OGL

Not sure about Steam version but I didn't have problem running the original boxed copy with a PC that was half of what yours is.

Thought I'd get STALKER Clear Sky but then I saw this:
Steam said:
Oops, this is embarrassing. Due to high demand we have temporarily run out of unique keys for this title. You may, by all means, purchase at the awesome sale price but may not be able to play until we receive more unique product keys. It shouldn't take too long, we have sent armed guards to the publisher's house to get them out of bed, drive them to their secret lair and produce more keys.
lol~

Please have Dragon Age on sale today. Please have Dragon Age on sale today. Please have Dragon Age on sale today. Please have Dragon Age on sale today. Please have Dragon Age on sale today.

You can't be serious?!

It looks fantastic imo.

am i doing something wrong with the graphics ?

mine looks like crappola :( looks like doom 3 on lower settings )

set it to 1680x1050 8xmsaa dont seem to look much better than default

heres setting what should the pixel aspect be at for wide screen 22 ?

I thought I'd try the demo of Butcher Bay which I've never played, as that is included with Dark Athena and is by all accounts far superior anyway. I love a good single player FPS but I wasn't taken by this. Your view seems to shift around strangely, sort of zooming in and out slightly all the time, which is disconcerting. And weapons seem very weak, I got fed up of pumping dozens of bullets into people to make them die (that's one of the things that annoys me about the Far Cry and Crysis games). Just seemed very unsatisfying.

Been playing Vegas 2 and it's pretty damn good, especially for a fiver.

Runs absolutely flawlessly on a quad, 4gb, 4870 at 1680x1050 everything maxed. In fact the FPS doesn't drop at all, it's very constant.

Ragdoll effects really make it feel real. The whole 'take cover behind anything' is very kane and lynch / GTA 4, but the game is really difficult on Normal settings. A few shots and you're down.

It's not a patch on Raven Shield, but it's pretty damn good, has good co-op play for LAN games. Not only can you do terrorist hunt co-operatively, but the storyline also. Very tempted to get Vegas 1 now :D

Its not a demo of Butchers Bay, but the full version redone using the newer Dark Athena engine.

I know but I thought it would be similar, is that not right then?

Certainly on paper it should be right up my street but as there's no demo I'd have to buy it to find out.

I picked up tropico 3 for £14.99, been waiting a couple of months for this to drop below £20

*watches clock at work, waiting for finish time* I want to buy a couple of other games too dammit!

Just picked up defense grid and lucasarts adventure pack, and contemplating stalker. Is clear sky much different to the original? Have both been patched up enough now so that they actually work?

Stalker SoC- get the complete mod 2009 (google it, top answer) and it's worked without glitching once on my old old machine (lowest settings). Not sure about Clear Sky.

picked up the Edios pack, GTA4 & mirrors edge. The first thing I did was download Deus Ex :) god I love this game. There's a DX10 renderer availible, it adds proper AA & AF support but stays faithful to the origional game as in no texture changes etc.

Deus Ex DX10 renderer
Deus Ex tweaker

Eidos pack has batman included in it for those people waiting on a price drop, pretty impressive list of titles. Dammit why did i look at steam again :( God they make it so easy too, add to cart, checkout, agree to terms, purchase. ><

ive been playing the first one and havnt found any bugs so far (at about 10ish hours of game play). Runs fine maxed on my rig as well.

im thinking of clear sky as well but it seems to move away from the first ones survival horror to more fps focused.

can anyone comment on that?
