LOL, Baptista? Benitez has made a few crazy signings in his time at Anfield but this would top the lot and would probably spell the end of Crouch. Can't imagine many teams would fear or be envious of a strike force which includes Kuyt, Voronin and Baptista

Yep. I included him because I can't see him playing many games so probably won't ever go on a scoring run. I've already warmed to him and would rather he played than Kuyt but we know how much Benitez bums his expensive signings

huh, i was disappointed with voronin against sunderland, i would have much rather kuyt played.
Kuyt will impress as he settles more, yea i know he had a year, but drogba needed one didnt he(not saying hes going to be anything like drogba).
A few new forwards may throw him off a little mind. To be honest i think the squad plays better with kuyt in it, it cracks me up seeing torres and kuyt pesting defenders, pennant too actually. they give ashley cole a nightmare
Baptista though, has rafa been quoted anywhere? because i really cant beleive that one..

As long as our strikers are scoring I couldn't care less how well they play. Voronin scored during pre-season and has continued to score so deserves to be in the team ahead of Crouch and Kuyt.
As far as Kuyt goes, I don't think he'll ever become the striker Liverpool supporters were hoping for. He hasn't got the pace or strength that Drogba has and very rarely threatens the oppositions goal. I'm yet to see anything from him that suggests we haven't got another Heskey on our hands

why not stack up for a Carling Cup team? you know the FA cup and League are unlikely so why not build a team to focus on the league cup? Baptista is just a part of this Rafa Revolution designed to bring Silverware to Anfield.

Rafa has confirmed Crouch's place is safe today as well, so seems a bit of an odd one, talking with one of my colleagues and he's just wondering whether Rafa might be interested in him as a utility player, supposedly started life as a defender and obviously can play attacking mid and forward roles, maybe a player that can help fill some gaps through injuries

trolling knows no limits my friend, but it was a comment made in jest.
I actually think that Baptista is quite good. i have a mate who is a good arsenal fan and therefore watched a fair bit when he was playing. if you can get him for less than 8 million he would be a good buy. but he's in the Kuyt/Crouch mould - good but not THAT good.
for example, id take Torres - but you get what you pays for i guess!
He was actually very good for Seville and scored over 20 goals in each of the 2 seasons he was with them for but when Real bought him he looked like a completely different player (not in a good way). He only scored 8 goals for them which is why they loaned him to Arsenal where he managed 10 goals last season 4 of which coming against us
All 4 of our current strikers are better imo.
