New summer transfer thread

I'd sell Fletcher no problem, we have a few younger players already better than him who I'd like to see given a chance.

I would, but it would have to be around £7m for me, he's young, highest level experience and last season he was superb. His performance against Roma was unbelievable where he marshalled De Rossi and Totti with ease.

I'd rather keep O'Shea though if push came to shove between them.

Yeah, O'Shea is the utility player for us. I wouldn't miss Fletcher if he went at all. He had a few good performances last season but overall is not up to much quality wise. For his age, like you said I'd expect £7million for him too as laughable as it seems when I really sit down and think about it after the last few years of watching him.

In all fairness though, 'marshalling' a team who played like a conference side isnt exactely an achievement.
IIRC, he didnt do all that well in the 1st leg against the players you mentioned.

I cant see Fletcher going just yet until some of the youngsters are fully tested in the Premiership. OShea was pretty good in some of the preseason games in midfield, but not sure how well he would cope against EPL teams.

No way Fletch is worth less than Richardson, easily £7m before any real thinking has to be done surely?

I rate O'shea more than flethcher but would prefer Fletcher at Boro as he would fit in perfectly in our team.

Shame it seems Man City have priced Samaras out of our reach as the guy clearly has a lot of potential and could have really found his feet playing with a quality striker like The Yak

lmao Sunderland go down they are ****** cant spend the cash like that and go down.

perhaps you spend the money to avoid going down in the first place

I think a fair few teams will underestimate Sunderland this season.

I think more people are over-estimating them tho, i fancy them to stay up but no where above 14th

I see the papers have now shifted away from Pompey, Birmingham and Man city to Everton. I've never heard so much guff over one player. The club still haven't received an approach for the Yak so why bother making stuff up?

Wasn't Niall Quinn having a go at the likes of West Ham for paying over the odds for players. And Sunderland then go and ***** £19.5m on Richardson, Chopra and Gordon

Yes but thats due to clubs paying over the odds for players thus resulting in Sunderland having to pay more. The only way was them to make a stance but that could result in them being relegated.
