New summer transfer thread

Really strange whats going on with David Nugent. Maybe Redknapp was a bit naive when he bought him and has realised he's not all he's made out to be. You don't sell a player after less then 2 months unless somethings gone wrong somewhere. Be interesting to see if its Anelka who replaces him.

He was never all that and has a bad attitude.

And he can only score againt Leeds :(

I think hes a great player, if it comes to it - id even have him at Utd myself, someone half decent as a backup. I want Fulham to go for him though..they're putting £4m in for Jason Roberts :/

I'd rather have Jason Roberts than Nugent :D

I think its more of Nugent not being happy about not being a definant starter. There are some rumours that they're after Crouch though they're going to have to pay in the region of £15m for Rafa to consider it.

In other news the Mail are linking us with an £11m bid for Perderson, wouldn't mind that tbh.

Good old tabloid talk..

Manchester City are set to sign Celtic midfielder Thomas Gravesen on a season-long loan - Daily Star

Manchester duo United and City are still battling it out for Nicolas Anelka - Daily Mirror

Man City are closing in on Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta - Daily Mirror

City are also trying to put together a deal for Real Madrid attacker Julio Baptista - The Guardian

And, to continue the City theme, Sven Goran Eriksson also wants Inter striker Adriano - Daily Mail

If City DO sign all these players...and they dont work out..they're gonna lose a lot of money.

Fulham been rejected for Koller.

Also going for Dejan Stefanovic (sp).

Is Sven actually trying to buy an entire new team? im so fed up with all these rich guys buying english clubs, its totally screwing up the transfer market.

But its so stupid, they haven't earnt it at all. If they do go on to be successful everyone will claim they just bought the success like chelsea, and rightly so.

Things Go From Bad To Worse For Tottenham Fans

Three points from four games, a defensive injury crisis, Martin Jol under pressure from the board...could things get any worse? Well, yes. Today's news is that Jermaine Jenas has signed a new improved five-year contract at the club and says he wants to finish his career at White Hart Lane. Jol says "the sky is the limit" for Jenas. Whatever next?

I think I read somewhere that over the last 4 years he has been second only to Henry in the goal scoring charts.
although that is true and he's certainly not a bad striker, what competition has he had? no other really good strikers have been playing regularly in the premiership for 4 years off the top of my head.
