Jodie Kidd is absolutely terrible on The Classic Car Show. And I'm not hugely taken with Philip Glenister from what I've seen of him on For The Love of Cars. No idea who Guy Martin is.

I like Guy Martin. Philip Glenister is okay and Jodie Kidd is inoffensive. It'll be interesting to see what the dynamic is like.

Guy Martin is great when he's doing something you can see he really loves but even he's the first to admit he's not a great presenter in the classic sense. I can't see him getting on with the hugely scripted nature of the show. Didn't really like Glenister on the car show I watched him on the other day and I've never really seen Kidd present so it's not looking good so far.

More important, anyone know when Clarkson, May and Hammand will have there new show out?

Read about Netflix might scoop them. Be awesome if so as they will get away with anything and have a massive budget.

Fingers crossed!

And you knew James May and Richard Hamond before you'd seen them on Top Gear?

I agree with one of the first comments that BBC should ditch the Top Gear name for now as everyone will (understandably) so compare the 2 and expect Nu-Clarkson and be oh so disappointed.

It's a brand though. One that works abroad with different presenters. Dropping it in the UK might have knock on impacts.

Even if viewing figures aren't as good, they might just drop it to BBC3 and at least it exists and they can work on getting it to work.

They'll need good script writers as well.

They'll need to make it look as though it isn't scripted and their last lot struggled at this. It was bad at times, but their humour made up for it. Specials being the highlights.

Top Gear is dead now.

That is terrible, i like Guy Martin for his crazy stuff I can't see him presenting *Insert Name Here*

I think i'll watch the first one to see how bad it is then wait for The real top gear to pop up on Netflix or something

Hold the thoughts people - it's not confirmed, it's Daily Mail speculation - in other words, about as far from "confirmed" as possible.

The intelligent and sensible thing to do is release the pre-filmed bits of the current series in a couple of compressed episodes, and then let that be the end of Top Gear in the UK.

Trying to force it is going to do more damage than good. The format will continue to work abroad with their own teams, but in the UK the format was built on the presenters.
