As the source is the DM i doubt it's got any hint of truth in it at all... However i really don't like Philip Glenister in for the love of cars, he just seems to try and be Gene Hunt but with clearly no actual interest/love for cars at all so i just find it a bit cringe. Not really seen Jodie Kidd in anything so i can't really say, i do like Guy Martin but not sure he'd really work in a scripted show?

"GOOD NEWS!" from either of those new people will not be the same.

I will watch it, but I won't necessarily enjoy it the same way.

I'll just have to look forward to the 3 plums to get their new show on Netflix :D

I'm really struggling to see Guy Martin in an interesting top gear style format of any kind, I'm on the fence with Philip Glenister in live shows he often hasn't had a great deal to say but with the right person(s) to play off I think he'd be alright. Don't really have an opinion on Jodie Kidd - she seems to have been hanging around Clarkson a lot lately though for what reasons who knows.

Was watching him yesterday and you can tell he has no real interest in cars at all. Especially when he was talking about imports. I actually prefer listening to the other guy who does the restorations!

The BBC have really shot themselves in the foot. There is really no one like JC or JM in the motoring world and you can not really replace them. Whatever happens to TG it will be a couple of seasons then be scrapped or have a rather limited budget and be rubbish.

I can't believe the BBC are actually going to try it with different presenters - surely the intelligent thing to do would be to live off the merchandise and rights costs for 24-36 months until this has all blown over and then take the original three back and ride the wave of hype associated with a "comeback" series?

Instead they're just going to run it into the ground. What a load of morons.

Even with those three they'd just be script monkeys, reading whatever they're told too. One of the good things about the prior trio was that they were journalists/reporters etc before & during the show and had a massive input into the making of each episode which gave it a personal touch that was noticeable. I don't think a new set of presenters would be able to stamp their authority on the show in the same way.

Might watch with the sound off to Ogle Jodie Kidd, but otherwise would rather watch the new "Top Gear" when it appears on a new Channel.

:D

No one mentioned Brian Johnson, really is a Petrol head and got on very well with Clarkson and currently has is own show

Top gear was getting tired for me anyway. I'd rather watch wheeler dealers where I can possibly learn something rather than a car program resembling dad's army meets faulty towers.

As a mk1 golf owner, I watched for the love of cars last night.

Phil was cringe worthy, and he didn't really seem to know much about the car in question or even how to say subaru properly.

Not impressed!

Guy Martin is a legend, would be good to have in the lineup. Looking forward to the next show from the 3 clowns too!

Guy Martin doesn't sound right to me. He's not really the type of person that would want to do this sort of thing. He likes to do things his own way unscripted doing whatever floats his boat regardless of what people think.

For starters he'd probably prefer to be fixing trucks than presenting a show on cars! And how would it fit in with his racing, training, and his other stuff out of work?

Like I said sounds Bull to me.

This really. Sounds like you've read his autobiography too.

Wheeler Dealers would be twice as good if they got rid of that fat annoying guy. :)
