New top gear lineup..

Doesn't matter who hosts it - it's dead.

This is what really makes me laugh, that the BBC seem to be under the delusion they could sack Clarkson yet keep Top Gear going. They can't have their cake and eat it - they need to wrap their moronic heads around the fact that the two come as a package and, by decided to ditch Clarkson, they killed their golden hen at the same time.

I'm amused at the level of hysteria that surrounds this. It's just a telly programme, is it honestly that big a deal for people? But then I suppose people get even more worked up over football and other sports which I find equally amusing so I shouldn't really be surprised.

I think it was guy martin that did the show in india, it wasnt that bad to be fair. Hopefully new TG will drop some of the stupid childish stuff.

But will they have the same draw in terms of pulling in the top end cars.

I like Guy Martin. Philip Glenister is okay and Jodie Kidd is inoffensive. It'll be interesting to see what the dynamic is like.

Glenister was great as an actor in Life On Mars etc. but I'm not overly impressed with his presentation skills on "For the love of cars". He seems to try to play Gene Hunt whatever he's doing.

Guy Martin is excellent when presenting stuff he's passionate about, but he's not exactly a team player and I struggle to see him enjoying working next to Glenister.

Inoffensive is about as much as you can say about JK, and that's probably not the kind of attribute that would make a good show, even if it keeps the BBC directors happy.

I turned over to C4 last night to watch Cat Does Countdown and a car program with Glennister was on and his voice over sounded so clipped and unnatural I thought it was a voice synthesiser.

And you knew James May and Richard Hamond before you'd seen them on Top Gear?

I agree with one of the first comments that BBC should ditch the Top Gear name for now as everyone will (understandably) so compare the 2 and expect Nu-Clarkson and be oh so disappointed.

No, I didn't. I knew who the others were and I've seen them on TV before so I could pass comment on them. I'd never heard of Guy Martin so I couldn't pass comment on him. I wasn't trying to say he was a bad presenter.

It would be interesting to see how many of the crew from 'Top Gear' leave with Clarkson, Hammond and May.

The winning formula of Top Gear doesn't just come from the 3 hosts, writers, directors and editors are all integral to the show.

You can have the best writers, directors and editors the industry has but if the presentation isn't as good as it was with the other 3.

If I had starred as McMurphy in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest instead of Jack Nicholson it wouldn't be a film people would regard highly.

Guy Martin doesn't sound right to me. He's not really the type of person that would want to do this sort of thing. He likes to do things his own way unscripted doing whatever floats his boat regardless of what people think.

For starters he'd probably prefer to be fixing trucks than presenting a show on cars! And how would it fit in with his racing, training, and his other stuff out of work?

Like I said sounds Bull to me.

Well considering Andy Wilman left as well and has been pictured with the 3 hosts, I'd assume Top Gear as we know it will be back at some point in a different guise.

So in a way it's kind of good as we'll probably get back what was lost, as well as another car show which might still be alright. :p
