You've never heard of Matt LeBlanc?
Do you remember a successful US sitcom in the late 90s called Friends? He's best known for being in that.
I've quite liked Matt Leblanc in some of the recent things I've seen him where he's been interacting with Brits, much to my surprise. The sitcom Episodes where he plays a caracature of himself and some interviews he's done were very amusing. I think it could work really well.

I think the choice of Leblanc could well turn out to be a good one, and I like that Chris Evans and the BBC aren't just trying to replicate the format of the old show. Anybody who does end up preferring how Top Gear used to be done will likely end up being well served by the new program the old trio are making for Amazon.

Good thing about all of this is that we could end up with two great motoring shows instead of just one. I know this has been said before, but only now am I starting to believe it.

To think it'll be better than the glory days of Clarkson, Hammond and May's Top Gear is futile. However, I'm still looking forward to it!
Interesting that they're referring to them as "Cast" instead of "Presenters". Not really sure what that means if anything. Maybe it implies that there will be more elaborate fiction and acting though (I'm aware that it was already rather dramatised)...

As much as I like this news, when it came to filming thrashing a car in a rather cool style about a track etc, May Hammond and Clarkson, could all hold their own, I wonder if Matt would have the same skill set, or how easy he could pick it up for daily filming.

He's quite well known, from his part in friends which I guess the assumption here is due to how big friends is/was most people have heard of him

I thought it was just big in US, don't think I know anyone who has ever watched it, maybe I'm just too old
Of course I know what friends is and I know it was huge (in the US, not sure how it did in UK) but personally I have never seen it so how would I know the actors?
