New VXR8

This doesn't mean much, tbh. The GTR trumps pretty much everything at this price range but it holds a relatively small portion of the market at this price range, too?

a GTR is a whole other level of running costs.

Very true.

Work out the £ per BHP and you'll see how much of a deal they are!

Looks a little better in Red..

I liked the previous generation VXR8 which had the whole "bringing 6.0l V8's to the masses" thing going on. This is just too expensive for your average Joe and if you are in a position in which you can drop £50k on a super saloon, you're also likely to be able to drop £67k on one too, which will buy you an M5.

Yeah, when you have £50k in your pocket you can just find £17k down the back of the sofa.

This whole "£xk more buys you a y" argument doesn't work though, as you can just keep spiralling up.

Am I the only person who likes the styling on this? Its some bonkers lol styling for a bonkers lol car. The price does somewhat ruin it though.

The people who buy £50,000 6.0l V8 super saloons aren't those that are on £20k a year and have saved for 2 decades. I see your point about the £17k - because that a phenominal amount of money to people that don't have that kind of money. I think spending £50k on a car is utterly insane, but people buy them everyday. Perspective customers of these cars are likely to have quite a bit of money to spare. However, the M5 is often the super saloon benchmark, the best of the best, what other supersaloons try to be. And to stretch a bit more to have the best may be worth it in some people's eyes.

The old VXR was £35k which is sort of 335i sort of price and is much more attainable to a lot more people, however £50k gets into much more exotic territory.
