I'm not saying it as a positive or negative, I'm just stating that overall, in comparison to 2004 and before the gaming community as a whole, and especially the MMO community is very different. I mentioned nothing of trash players, I think the players have gotten much, much better as comparing pre-2005 content to today's content the mechanics alone are night and day and significantly more complex. I simply pointed out that a small reason that some people (not necessarily me) don't like content being gated in 2021 is that it's comparatively more (in my experience) difficult to find groups that aren't super-picky or wanting to go a thousand miles an hour.

Overall, I have issues with the game, but not that story is gated, although I don't have time to spent a lot of time searching for groups these days, it means it's slower for me - which isn't a bad thing.

looks like they have finally taken some action on the gold duplication! (below taken from the offical forum not sure if i can link to it here).

Hi all,

We are aware of a possible gold duplication exploit that has been circling and we are temporarily disabling all forms of wealth transfer between players (ie. sending currency, guild treasury, trading post, player to player trading).

Any player that has engaged in the use of this exploit will be actioned against.

Once the gold duplication exploit has been investigated and we are ready to turn on wealth transfer again, we will update this post.

Thank you for your understanding.

I do sympathise with some of what you're saying and can relate to early 2000s MMO communities but I also feel that it's easier than ever to find a group that suits your own needs. I've previously raided casual and hardcore and the different types of communities within MMO games exist to your own needs.

I get in this day and age people are a bit more anxious to form groups and friendships and if past/recent experiences have been bad it can be even harder but the right groups are out there. Not playing with others in MMOs is (almost) removing all of the fun from the genre IMO.

And, true to form, by doing so they have introduced another Gold dupe bug.

Right now if you are a town owner and upgrade anything in town, it will put that gold inside your company’s bank and the upgrade never starts. You can simply do it multiple times and get infinite gold.

If you start a town upgrade your gold is not taken away from you and the upgrade does not begin, but if you reconnect you get the cost of the upgrade added to your company wallet.

100% agree, I just do think sometimes it's very difficult to filter through all of the crap nowadays.
 
I enjoyed the first day or so playing but got bored quickly and have lost interest in playing.
With all the recent issues seems it was a good think to get out lol luckily I didn't pay for the key.
 
Would seem their game engine is a steaming pile of **** if for every major bug fix they push they break multiple other things. I can't remember any other mmo that had things this bad?
 
Seems that the new thing is for those who have exploited the duplication bugs to send quite a bit of Gold to random people. Not through generosity though, but purely for shiggles. AGS have said they're tracking and will ban people who receive any ill-gotten Gold. :D

No I think you're the one who is upset, that's blatantly obvious. It's not me crying and calling people negative and "haters" (lol! how old are you?)

People have rightly criticised a game you like, in this case NW and you can't handle it, go back to the SC forum and post some more screenshots of those ships you paid thousands for if you can't handle adult chat.

I've dipped in and out of it, for a couple of months at a time, but always left knowing i'd never want to put all the time required into it.
