New World MMO

I stopped playing a few weeks ago when I realised main storyline progression was gated behind a dungeon. I hate being forced into multiplayer.

I never understood this attitude, why play a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game if you don't want to play with other people? Utterly bizarre

I'm not sure that queueing for a server or questing in a group really argues the large drop off in numbers.
It's not dead yet agreed, but it certainly looks like it's on life support.

I've played MMO's since the release of WoW many years ago. I'm quite happy playing multiplayer when I want to - LFR in WoW is a godsend for this - but gating main storyline progression behind a dungeon when there is no LFR is just rubbish.

Join a guild, make friends and clear the dungeon when you want to?

How did you cope in vanilla, tbc and wotlk pre lfd when elements of the game were gated in 5 man's??

I think you might be in the wrong genre. You join a group of rando's, you say hi you defeat the dungeon you say bye (your mileage may vary give the toxicity level of your games player-base), that's all there is to it.

A small defence, the MMO community was very different back then, compared to now for the most part. At least in my experience. I despise the modern-day go go go, and having stupid requirements attitude I see on most MMOs these days.

You're talking about a vocal minority of players but ignoring the many other types of people that play MMOs. If all you see is the trash players then maybe you're playing with the wrong crowd.

LOL!!!

Reduced to using "hater"...that about sums you up, anything that doesn't fit in with your childish world-view is negativity or hate, and now you're trying to stop other people posting, a true cultist. Grow up.

I don't know how to break this to you, but the only person that comes across as being 'angry and upset' here appears to be you. Criticism of a completely broken game in a discussion thread about that game is perfectly acceptable, if you don't like it then, well, tough ****. This isn't an echo chamber, both points of view are valid.
