New World MMO

Loads do on ever evolving games though.
WoW, ESO, SWToR (I think) and maybe a few Asian ones? Struggle to think of others. FF14, GW2, BDO definitely don't.

Regardless it was more a tongue in cheek comment that NW don't test anything otherwise they wouldn't be breaking so much when it's patch day/bug fix time

It will be interesting to see just how low player numbers go before they level out, and then whether AGS can bring players back. It looks like they chose the right business model, because had they gone monthly sub, it would have definitely made it more difficult to rebuild the player-base.

This game deserves a lot of criticism but moaning about a PTR for player feedback by testing is one of the strangest complaints I've seen in this thread.
Especially when the PTR contains a whole bunch of content (new areas, weapon, numerous game system changes) that simply rolling it out without participation feedback would just lead to more issues.
They basically listened to a lot of what people were saying, put it in the PTR and now its up to the audience to decide if that is actually what they wanted and it seems they already have a bunch more content lined up should that go well.

its strange how a bunch of wow streamers/personalities that are chasing that FF14 money have jumped onto the no PTR bandwagon because they've read that FF doesn't have one. If you have a competent QA team they aren't needed.

I mean, they did have one fairly substantial bug in which they had to shut the entire game down and create a new one because it was so bad :D

most people don't like PTR because all content is data mined and theory crafted before it's even released.

in FFXI no one knows the boss fights before it goes live?

I think the position is based on WOW vs FFXI

it was supposedly one of the things that amazed the big streamers, no one knows the content before it goes live

And here we go, in game economy is shut down again due to yet another duplication bug.:cry:

Poor Amazon - Stick to delivering stuff.

I'm now actually quite pleased they canned the LOTR MMO. At least now there's a chance it could be handled by a competent developer in the future.
