New Year's Eve

Me and the missus have a few ciders in the fridge, probably stay up until 12.30ish then head off to bed... Probably watch a film of some sort

Bottle of champagne and zoom chat with the people we should have been celebrating with in person.

Ho hum

Same as I do every NYE, **** all, I'm in bed before midnight, it's just another day.

Probably just watching the second part of Two Towers extended edition (4K version, Christmas present, it's so good), continuing with Persona 5 which I've just started, and polishing off whatever is left in the fridge. I'm sure there'll be a bottle of red in there somewhere.

Bit different to the party we attended last year but can't say I'm that bothered. Just another day, as others have said.

Putting my grumpy hat on, I'm getting a bit sick of hearing people say they're glad 2020 is over... I can't see 2021 being magical somehow, certainly not the start of it anyway.

This is the night that the police should deal with rule breakers mercilessly.

Christmas is a family thing, but nye is just about a **** up. If they discover any parties, call SCO19 and go in shooting!

Like how they dealt with the boxing day tory toff fox hunters, or is it one rule for some?

If someone has a few family or friends over for a few sociable drinks in their bubble and are happy that none of them have covid then go for it I'd say.

They don't know that they don't have COVID and the virus doesn't care about their support bubble. The bubble thing is just a government guide to make things easier on people's physical and mental health needs, but it makes no difference to the virus.

This is a sensible approach but you'll be hounded for suggesting it.

Police time is already a constraint as is, let's not suggest we start using them to start knocking on doors. If that's where our tax money is going when a shed loads of crimes aren't even being followed up, we've failed as a society.

A virus that deadly that nobody knows they've got it! :D

Back on topic, the missus is keen for Two Towers, that's set then...

That's right, I'm not allowed to see anyone at home or someone else's home but I can go to work and carry on working with work colleagues as normal.

Red wine in the fridge!!!

is this what 2020’s done to society?

I didn't say it was the law, I said it was guidance. :) Some people cannot WFH, that's fair enough, but people can still choose whether to visit someone in their support bubble or not. If they can avoid it, they should.

I can't bear to think about the irony of a celebratory "we don't have COVID" party.

This will be the first time since 1970 I haven't gigged and it's always the best paying night of the year.
I'll be sitting in my new Noblechair watching films or TV and I might have some alcohol.

Home alone as usual ,drinking a bottle of Chianti reserva unfortunately I have an open bottle of seadog gin and no willpower,. Working my way through my YouTube play list, pretty normal night (weekend night)
