New Year's Eve

Happy New year everyone.
Staying in and not massively different routine other than probably watch fireworks through the windows :D.

Quietest New Years, ever.

I'm just about to hit the sack.

There were fireworks for about 5 seconds an hour ago, just enough to send Littlepuss Fluffybutt into her hiding place from which she will not emerge for love nor money.

I don't think there are any organised displays tonight. It's so peaceful.

COVID has had some upsides, I dare say.

I only drink at Christmas and the New Year so shall be getting (hopefully) legless on gin and tonics and dark rum, whilst saying good riddance to an Annus Horribilis.

Be careful what you eat, if you’re going to be drinking both gin and tonics, AND dark rum, that probably won’t be all that you’ll be saying goodbye to.
Hope that you have a bucket on standby.

Let hope for another lock down in spring or summer 2022 :D (But not due to people getting a Virus)

It was so nice with hardly any vehicles on the roads and seeing lots of families just out walking & cycling and the peace & quiet ...

To be honest I did really enjoy the March/April lockdown. I know that it was absolutely awful for many, many people, but things were OK on my side and, being the ambivert that I am I really relished the quiet on public transport and outside. It was bliss. Sorry to all the people who had a dreadful time though, and are still doing so as a result.

Not a problem, I don't have a lot, but what I do have is an iron stomach! :D

This is my New Year Sieve

The streets are dead outside. For 23.51, absolutely dead.
I might take my car for spin through my local town to see how many people out...

The last 5 to 10 years have been nothing like it used to be, Years ago there used to be a que to get into pubs on NYE but the last 5 or so years when i been out it been pretty dead as most people seem to go houses parties or just stay home on NYE these days.
