NO, definitely not! You only need a 1440p max - idealy with G-sync - but i need that max budget.

What's you're overall budget - i have a build with a monitor and an example of it built as i did it for another forum member - but i don't want to tempt you to spend more than you need/have. It's easily done when buying a PC...

Well I’m getting everything on that list, so all that comes to £1600 without a monitor. Maybe £300 for a monitor.

If you dropped to a Ryzen 1600 and a GTX 1070 you could get an excellent monitor that would compliment the build really well - great panel: G-SYnc @ 165HZ.

Additional: The geIL 3200MHz memory is the same prices as the 3000MHz memory you're looking at. It's also AM4 approved so is guaranteed to run at 3200MHz (the Ryzen sweetspot) and has RGB LEDs which i think you'll approve of:

That’s nice! Would I notice the difference from 144hz to 165hz?

Wise if funds are tight.

But you really don't need a GTX 1080 for 1080p gaming - i would definitely save some money and buy a GTX 1070.

As mentioned above, 1440p 140+ Hz monitor will last you 3 life times of the card .
If you down grade to 1070 and 1440p 144+ Hz, yes you ain't going to run it that high in most games, but comes 1270gtx you might . Etc etc
Unfortunately 1070s should be a little cheaper but down to miners at the peak of mining , still bitcoin hit $5k today...

there are two places most people would buy a screen from, here and the other one beginning with S and is 4 letters long.
Check to see where you'r getting it froms, dead pixel policy

and good courier insurance haha

that screen can support fast refresh but not G-sync- if i looked at the right one. might get screen tears with high frame rate drops

Just noticed that monitor has freesync.....should I be getting a monitor with G-Sync?
