I mean that's not surprising is it. Most of them come back. Even penski* is still here somewhere

This thread is great. The OP photo is hilarious. "Is it real"? Why on earth would a person take a photo of half a casket, perfectly framing something he can't see in the shot.

To be fair, it's cropped from the actual image. It's just standing on the side in the original.

I do find it odd that people think this is legit though, it looks terrible.

but I wonder why you seem so closed minded to anything "woo woo". It suggests some own inner fear or inability to accept uncertainty. However I respect that you are entitled to your own opinion so I'll leave it at that.

Ooh I don't know, perhaps because in my 60 years of life I have NEVER EVER seen any proof of anything paranormal, not a jot.
I've seen things but the difference is I know it was my mind playing tricks - some see ghosts, I see an illusion.

I'm going to ask him.

It would be more believable if there was some detail in the face. Like I said in 2014 to me it clearly looks like someone wearing a black robe and white cloth over their face but faking something like this back when this photo was made was pioneering stuff. It's not like today where anyone can make a convincing ghost photo in about 5mins.

I used to browse a website in school that was purely "ghost" photos but for the life cannot remember it.. I can remember 1 image vividly of a faint white blur with a face coming into a kitchen from a higher level.

Half a casket? There’s no casket there, that’s the altar.

If you search on google maps for the church of Christ the consoler, you can see the altar today on the images. It’s barely changed, if at all.

So, lets cut to the basics.

(1) Exact date and time taken? - I have a printed source that says 1954, yet every internet source says 1963
(2) Where is the original negative?
(3) How and when did the photograph first come to public attention?
(4) Any first hand accounts of the Rev Kenneth Frank Lord?

Thank God you're here to solve this for us, truly I've been having sleepless nights since this thread was started 10 whole years ago. This may not be entirely true.

I don't believe in ghosts, however, when my sister and I were around 10-14, we had a photo taken at the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, we stood at the centre and there was no one near us that we can recall, only people in the distance. When we had the photos developed, there is a young child next to us in the photo, as though it was taken with 3 of us, wearing old fashioned clothing, like you'd imagine a child in the early 1900s would wear.

The most likely explanation is that we just did not noticed at the time (most likely) but the photo covers a good 10m+ either and there are no parents or anyone else, which would be unusual given how young the child looks.

Spooky, but mainly as we were involved and really can't remember the child. Easily explained and I wouldn't say strong evidence of the existence of ghosts!

Picture?

They're in parents attic in a photo album somewhere I imagine.

The child isn't see through or faded or anything. I might have oversold how spooky it is lol. It's always stuck in my mind though. Imagine a child wearing old fashioned dark coloured shorts and thinking about it now, I'm sure he's wearing a t-shirt, so we're not talking period Victorian chimney sweep clothing, but definitely looks unusual. I suppose like someone walking around in plus fours would be now... though thats not unheard of.

I imagine an outsider looking at the photo would be very underwhelmed!
