Newcastle new sponsers?

Hmmm seems like too much of a nice gesture.

Expect it to be renamed in the future.

I don't think it is. I think they've massively raised the profile of their immoral company in an area where there is a lot of debt and, on average, not much intelligence.

Shrewd business, but reprehensible nonetheless.

Ignorance is my guess, which is far a better guess than his. :p

I just thought I'd bring this post back up.

After reading several reports on the agreement, the value of the deal is being reported at somewhere between £6m and £8m per year. It seems that my ignorant guess was a lot better than yours :p

Regardless of anything else it's another sign Cashley and co are running the club correctly. Will always think he's a fat ****** but I respect the job he has carried out and certainly don't hate him and think he should go like the knuckle staggers still seem to.

You've been reading some tabloid papers, well done, none of which can ever agree on any figures down to them knowing absolutely nothing about the situation. Not a sun reader by any chance? ;)

I provided you with a credible link last time, please do the same. For this I'm hearing a minimum of £8m a year, plus two lots of £1.5m invested in to the club plus additional money for prem placing and stuff like that.

But virgin was £10m a year, and we wouldn't sign up for less if we're not are we cannot get the addons to get it over £10m a year again.

Do you really believe that people in Newcastle, on average, are any less intelligent than anywhere else in the country? Or are you just trolling?

Or perhaps you've chosen to believe the 'thick Geordie' image purported in the tabloid press...?

I didn't read a single tabloid (not national one anyway). I read a few broadsheets and 2 North East papers, all of which quoted £6-8m per year (mostly £6m) :)

And if you knew anything about me, you'd know that I wouldn't go near the Sun.

You posted an article copied from the Daily Mail :/

I don't think the Virgin deal was worth £10m for the reasons I've explained before (backed up by the reports on the value of this deal too) and as you asked, here are the links to reports of the value of this deal. The Telegraph, Guardian and Independent are all reporting it at £24m over 4 years (although the Telegraph also have an article reporting it at £8m per year so it sounds like they're hedging their bets), a webchat from the North East journo Lee Ryder also reporting it at £24m over 4 years and finally an article from the Norther Echo reporting it at £8m per year (which they claim to be a record (therefore more than the Virgin deal)).

I do believe it, having spent a fair amount of time there.

I've got mates and colleagues there. Most of them fine, but the randoms you see around are different.

but the randoms you see around are different.

You'll get that everywhere, unfortunately you must have spent your time in Newcastle in a large population of "less intelligence". So it's no wonder you have that opinion.

I could say the exact same from my experience of London, in fact it was a worse experience in 1 day than my entire lifetime in Newcastle...

London on the whole is too ignorant to tell! Wolverhampton is the closest comparison IMO, and although they tend to be slower than is the norm a lot of that may be the stupid voice ;)

All I could find in 5-10 minutes of internet searching. But a little statistic on education may help a little to deter your thought of intelligence in the North East of England.

Disclaimer: I know this does not illustrate levels of intelligence

I think Newcastle have had a rough ride from the media over this ( and I am a sunderland fan!)

Wonga have already sponsored two other clubs and it didnt raise a headline..why are the mags getting it in the neck?

That is an absolutely disgraceful comment.

There will likely be no more or less intelligent people in the Newcastle area than any other equivalent area in the UK. Totally gob smacked.

Is it? Why?

Because your basing it on knowing a couple of people there and then generalising the majority as 'thick' because you have come across a few.

Unreal.

But you'll get away with it because you have some sort of authority.

What are you Gilly? Employee, moderator?
