Newcastle part company with Hughton

I've noticed my Geordie friends on facebook have gone very quiet suddenly, after posting their initial disgust of the sacking. I'm guessing they're currently torching the Stadium of Light and/or Mike Ashley's home to cheer themselves up right now.

Pardew isn't a bad manager at all. In the long run he will probably be a better appointment than Hughton.

However, to stick him on a five and a half year contract is.... madness! He's not good enough to guarantee that he will be worth a five and a half year contract, not just on the pitch but off it.

The rumours for him leaving Southampton are that he was making moves on Jose Fonte's wife and all of the players were disgusted by it, so he lost the dressing room and had to go. I also heard his departure from West Ham was very similar, making Rob Green stay behind for extra training so he could go home and bang his Mrs. Pretty poor show if its true!

Mike Ashley most know something we don't.

I don't think it's fair to say Pardew is a bad manager but a six year contract suggests a very, very reputable coach. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Seems too obvious doesn't it? That's it all going to go up in the air? Maybe we'll be wrong after all this criticism. :D

I wonder what the odds are of Pardew not lasting the duration of his contract?

Mike Ashley knows jack ****.

Pardew is a casino buddy of Ashley's and Ashley's past history choosing managers hasn't been too great has it?

I don't know whether you're firing back at me or just commenting in general but I was being sarcastic when I said "Mike Ashley must know something we don't." :D

I have to admit that's smashing. Sounds like a lad, I'm behind him now.

No mate. I wasn't having a go at you. Just a general comment on Ashley. :)

I'm half hoping it's another disaster for Newcastle. I know it's cruel but there's nothing better than hearing moaning Geordie's on football phone in's! :)

I still remember the season Newcastle went down there was a Newcastle fan on 606 arguing the toss that another side should go down because Newcastle are "too big" to go down :D

I think quite ironically there is a lot of Newcastle fans half-wishing they get battered. :D

Micky Quinn has just been on talkSPORT and I'm sure I even heard him say he hopes Newcastle get battered on Saturday!

the only explanation must be he won his contract in a game of cards at the casino!

The plan must be some sort of scheme to get Pardew a massive payout.

Get him in on a 5 year contract, sack him after 6 months, agree a settlement to pay off part of his contract.
