Newcastle takeover???

Was going to write multiple paragraphs but what the point I only get called stupid and choked into submission :p
So here's some bullet points

1. If you think these issue's haven't been checked by lawyers and special teams yet then that's simply absurd. Let's spend millions of pounds but avoid the the massive elephant in the room until now.

2. That interview. The second question was about the Test not specifically Newcastle. If it was then he has just broke the NDA. It has been reported before that the test will be revised to stop this happening again like with Southampton. Can't change the goalpost in the middle of the test.

3. That same reporter expects the takeover to be completed. He said this after that interview.

Right going to give this thread a rest and come back once it's completed or failed.

My response will be balls!! Or highly likely laugh my balls off at Mr premiership :p

How much for Virgil?

Not going to call you stupid but you just wrote multiple paragraphs and I've said I think the takeover will go through ;)

Judging by this and your silly post in the corona thread, it looks like you rather than woppy got upset by me explaining something :p

/lurk
I'm back :p just poking fun :p.

I have new news!!!!

The potential new owner's have met with the council with plans to rename east stand and the number 9 bar.

Has this happened yet?

Not being funny but..... Money and Pochetinno Id be very happy with that.

Call me a glory supporter but I don't care, we have been crap for years. So crap I went to watch Gateshead games.

No Newcastle United own the stadium but the city of Newcastle own the land the stadium sits on
The council are well aware of the ‘status’ of the club. It’s the biggest single club city in England, the stadium is in the Middle of the city centre and the potential to bring investment to the town, not just the club is immense. I’d imagine the city council will be quite accommodating.

That would be nice, if there opinion changed, but every time the club has tried to buy the land the council have told the club to get stuffed. TBH the stadium can’t be extended any more anyway as Ashley sold strawberry place last year and behind the east stand, Leazes Terrace is a Grade I listed building so that stand can’t be extended. It’s more likely a new stadium would be built as the land that SJP sits on is now prime real estate

Does Strawberry place sale effect the plans that came out a while ago?

Rotating the pitch 90 degrees for an extra 20K.

Having the stadium in the city centre is amazing.
I can catch a quick flight to Newcastle, stay on the Quayside enjoy the pubs and restaurants. Go shopping with the other half to keep her happy then take a dander to the stadium for the game. Don't think we even used the metro on game day.

Getting tickets might be a pain now tho!!

Strawberry place was sold last year and plans have been approved by the council for the redevelopment. For the cost to move the stadium 90 degrees you might as well build a new one on the town moor or leazes park

aye getting tickets might be a pain, it’s a good job I have had my season ticket for almost 30 years

Genuine question, what is holding the deal up if not the issues around piracy and human rights? This has been going on for close to 6 weeks now. Of course the issue with project restart will have delayed things to an extent but 6 weeks? In the last 13 years Liverpool have been taken over twice and both deals went from an agreement being reached to being approved by the League within a day or two. City's takeoever happened pretty much overnight too.

*No, I still think the deal will go through.

I remember someone putting that city’s takeover took 27 days( but I will check that) I really think that project restart has slowed it down massively and the questions about piracy also required answers back to the premier league from the perspective owners.

edit if I’m reading it correctly the agreed sale was on the 1st sep and the owners and directors test was completed on the 21st sep

Re City, they agreed the outline terms of the purchase at the start of September, they then carried out their due diligence over the next 3 weeks but the deal was approved and concluded within 2 days of that. It's possible that the PL began their checks while Abu Dhabi were still finalising their deal with Shinawatra but from the point of reaching a final agreement and approval was just 2 days.

Everything always seems to take longer with Newcastle( or it feels that way) telling points for me are, Ashley hasn’t came out and called them tire kickers and time wasters, which he has in every other takeover attempt, Steve Bruce has broke silence so must have been told it’s very close(unofficially done) all the Saudi news channels are saying it’s done(massive embarrassment to the country if there was any chance of rejection) and last the press people over here that are close to Amanda Staveley have said as much.

You have no idea how much I have been waiting for this to go through, I don’t normally drink but have a case of brown ale and a nice bottle of red waiting in the fridge for that little yellow ticker on sky news.

I have always though due diligence was carried out prior to agreeing a deal so you know what your getting(AS and PIF went through due diligence in December/January), so I’m taking the wording of due diligence on the wiki site was referring to the O&D test which was 20 days

I returned from the shop to find my dad watching sky sports news instead of sunbathing. I thought it must have been the time for the announcement :p

And yes. I was fetching cans.
