Next England Manager? Next England Captain?

I wonder if the Football Association will 'force' Allardyce to play more attacking style of football, going against his history/style/philosophy as they did with Hodgson.

I can see the future Sun headlines 'Last roll of the dyce' when England fail again.

Are you hoping to be a headline writer ? Thats truelly awful / brilliant depending on which way you want to look at it

I want to give him a chance, and not set him up for a fall even before his first training session, but its not an inspirational choice by the FA (not that we should expect that in the first place mind you)

Why does everyone think think England deserve a top ranked manager? Not to say Sam is a bad manager.

A "top" manager would not want the job with this bunch of clowns.

We are NOT a good footballing nation, so time to start from the bottom and work our way up.

I think Sam deserves a shot.

Its the calibre of clubs that the new England manager has come from, rather than it being the likes of Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal etc all his clubs are bottom feeders.

which is quite apt considering England is a bottom feeder in the international scene so it should work out well for him....................

I think this is a good appointment, but until we have major changes throughout the England setup everyone is doomed to fail.

Anyone think John Terry will make a return? forget his age can anyone name a better English cb the last 2 seasons? and as for captaincy nobody comes close to his leadership skills. Just a thought

I just want to see people playing in their actual positions in a formation and style that suits the qualities of the players we have.

It won't happen, the FA won't offer a contract to someone wanting to drop big name stars so we'll continue with an unbalanced team and managers will be queueing up to get a very lucrative England managers contract regardless of any conditions that handcuff their ability to bring success.
