Next England Manager? Next England Captain?

Hard to imagine Allardyce as England manager, so fully expect the FA to make another **** appointment and bring him in on £5 million a year.

I was against Allardyce at first but the more I think about it he would suit the role. Sure we would love a trophy winning champagne football playing team but at the moment we are far away from that. Similar to Sunderland that needed turning round and rescuing we need someone who can pull everyone together and give the players a much needed kick up the backside. I was horrified watching Hodgeson stood on the sidelines looking bemused biting his nails not knowing what to do or even open his mouth, at least Sam would have put a rocket up there backside

Nothing against it, we need to try new things. We've had years and years of shoving a high profile manager in the job and expecting it to work.

Not Alan Pardew, he will just end up throwing a chair or headbutting a ref and getting us removed from the 2018 World Cup, 30 minutes into our first game.

What about Lawro? He can save us the heartache simply by predicting the performances/score so we don't have to bother getting our hopes up again!

On a serious note, it has to be someone who has attitude, but not over aggressive. Someone who is gonna stand up on the sidelines for at least 80 minutes and not someone like Hodgson who just sits down and has as much passion as a sloth does for treadmills.
I'm not opposed to someone like Alan Shearer (but im very biased being a Newcastle fan) but i do understand his lack of experience has to be a concern.

Captain is also difficult as it depends which players show real maturity over the next 2 years and also who shows us they have a voice. Club captains are always a good choice, but out of the current crop i can only name Rooney.

I think Shearer has to be involved as an assistant, watching him on motd after the Iceland game he was furious, the closest you'll see to him upset, we need someone who cares like that, as for the captain it will have to be on a game by game basis as there is no standout candidate, that's the real worry as we have no leaders currently, nobody anyway near an Adams, Ince, Shearer type, seem to be a team full of jellyfish

We used to rotate captain at my team when playing for the Under 9's so everyone got a go.....The England team act like Under 9's so maybe if we employ that tactic it might actually work? I like your thinking acron.

On that note we should have the players parents on the sidelines screaming at them too lol might jolt them into action

YES! And that one father who is super scary that the ref makes sure the game goes the way of that team (I reckon Ross Barkley's dad).
That's it, I've heard enough, Acron33 for next England manager.
I'd start the campaign by print screening your Football Manager 20XX statistics if i were you.
