Next England Manager? Next England Captain?

I see Klinsmann odds have come in a lot, that would be quite good if we're going non English.

Would still love to see Hoddle get another blast if we're sticking to English though.

Shearer being involved in some capacity would be good as well.

My only concern with Hoddle is how little he's managed recently, and things have moved on a lot in the decade since, both tactically and with players attitudes.

I wouldn't mind having him back for a year if a more suitable contender can be persuaded, but if he's been fine in that period then we might as well keep him on, but I'm very cool towards Hoddle as a permanent appointment at this point in time.

Hoddle! that must a be a joke right? have you heard this idiot recently on ITV, what a muppet. I'd rather have Mike Basset or Keegan back in charge

Shearer as an assistant would be a great idea, can't do any worse than Gary Neville ;)

I would like to Sam Allardyce in charge of England, he would sort out the defence and give em all a kick up the backside.

Would love Wenger in a year but we really need to be looking at appointing someone for longer than like 4 years. Surely if he came it'd to slowly retire from football by taking a part time job with England. I can't really see it anyway.

Not a joke in the slightest. But surely your suggestion of Big Sam is? :p

Hah, obviously the FA wouldn't put Cantona in the job.

For them, it needs to be someone more like... Hodgson :p Whatever boxes Hodgson ticked (the ones the FA choose), I don't think Cantona would tick them :p

Seems to me that the FA will go for the popular vote this time which as far as I can tell is Hoddle.
Maybe but they only went for Hodgson last time because the media convinced the public we needed an English manager and Redknapp declined. Think the only calls this time have been for a younger and more dynamic manager.

Redknapp declined? That's news to me, he certainly didn't seem to suggest that in his book.

Iirc, at the time Redknapp was in court for something (football related). Redknapp got let off with whatever it was he did and I was thinking he was going to be the next manager but then the FA announced Hodgson.

Hart was terrible as was Sterling.

I thought Sturridge did well and we looked dangerous when he played.

Kane did not have a good tournament.

Why oh why did Roy prefer Walker over Clyne.....

Cantona has my vote, there is no way England would lose to a frozen island where the goalkeeper is a movie director and the assistant manager is a dentist.
