As I said, I don't know who advises them. I do know that they're getting outside advice though. It's been rumoured for a long time that David Dein might be advising them but that's only a rumour.

I've not said he's done a good job. For a start, I don't really know exactly what he's responsible for so it's difficult to judge his performance. However the criticism that's thrown at him is mostly baseless bs.

As I initially said, I'm yet to see any real criticism of Ayre that has a single bit of foundation to base it on.

Why would Everton approach him 2 months ago? Unless they knew 2 months ago Moyes was leaving which presumably means they knew Fergie was also leaving?
 
I'd have thought as a precaution in case Moyes left at the end of his contract regardless of Fergie retiring.
 
Do things like that really happen in football? It's like when Ballague says we paid 25m to Atlético just to get a first option on Falcao :/
