*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Over a day battery life?! I'm yet to see it go beyond ~18 hours, with a screen time of 2-4 hours. My battery must be awful. :(

It varies wildly based on signal strength, and also the wifi network you're connected to can do strange things.

At home I get amazing battery life; very little drop per hour when I'm not using it, and around 10% drop per hour with screen on time, fantastic.

However in the office/lab I'm lucky to get 3 hours screen on time over the course of a day.

Depends on use mainly. If I play a game it kills it. Where video playback is not that bad. Just gotta think ahead and plan your day. I have a portble charger that I carry in my work bag.

As much as I love my nexus I would swap for a Google edition s5 and bag myself a 128 SD card and two official batteries

I'm still resisting the urge to sell the N5 and grab an S5. The screen, camera and battery are the only real benefits, I just can't justify that they're worth the £300+ to change.

Especially with the rumours of the "S5 prime" floating about, and the G3/Note4/larger iPhones on the horizon.

Happy with that mainly at home though with good WiFi but poor 3g reception. That includes 8 hour where WiFi and data was off whilst i slept.

Mostly browsing bit of camera use and ever so slight YouTube.

I love the battery life on my N5. Had Samsungs before but my S3 broke out of warranty, didn't have insurance and wasn't due an upgrade so I had to buy outright and I went Nexus.

That changes nothing. Its still the outlay. But yeah show me a Google edition on the UK play store and I might bite

Yeah, this is the way I see it. Can I really justify £300+ on what is realistically a rather small upgrade.

Plus if the G3 or something else appears in the next few months, and really is that much better, I'd regret it even more. :(

My N5 over the past couple of days has been absolutely lunching the battery. The concerning thing is it has been in aeroplane mode in my bag for at least 10/11 hours while I am at work in France. I get back to the UK and it seems to always be on 10%!

The latest Hangouts update has eaten my battery on my N5 ans N7. Check the battery stats.

Ubersync Was hammering my battery. Google core apps was the culprit but some people on XDA said it was Ubersync.
Uninstalled it Saturday and No problems on Sunday or so far today. Battery back to normal.
I think they have borked something in the latest update.

Agreed but I wanted to put the £300 in perspective, most working and many unemployed people can afford to blow £3 p/w as I often do willy nilly on a sarnie or pint of cheap beer.

yeah i agree to an extent, i purchase my phones outright that is why the Nexus5 is such a great package.

if you were going to get the nexus 5 on contract then i see your point
