*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Any new apps or serviced installed ?

Nope. Just updated whatever apps I do have.

Turned WiFi and mobile data off last night at About 11and just checked, battery went from 47 to 32, huge drop, before, the idle battery drain with WiFi etc. Off it would have only been like 2-3% lost, if even that.

No.

I have just gone through every app and setting to check, changed a few things but doubt they will make any difference... Going to uninstall some apps too.

If that doesn't fix it, guess a factory reset will need to be done *sigh*

Latest version of nexusbot is too stronk for the nexus 5/android...

I have location off most of the time, there's just not really anything that I need to have it on which justifies the loss of battery.

Only takes a few seconds to turn it on when I want to use something which needs it.

Like Nexus18 I'm experiencing exactly the same and my battery life has gone to ****. I haven't installed any new apps and everything is the same.

I don't know what's going on and it's annoying so I took drastic measures and wiped the phone, rooted it and flashed Franco Kernel.

Let's see if it makes a difference.

So many people happy that a full factory wipe fixes stuff. It'd take me about 2 days to get the phone back to how I want it, and therefore not an acceptable fix:p

Fortunately my battery has been better since 443.

I seemed to have lost the ability to take a screenshot since the update to 4.4.4.

I've tried a reboot as some suggest on the internet but nothing changes :(

Then you're not using android properly!

It takes me about 40 minutes (95% of that unassisted) to get all my apps, LEDs, ringtones, settings, wallpaper, desktop layout etc back to how it was as everything is either synced somewhere or backed up.

It doesn't take long to re-install my apps. as you say, it's automated. I mean getting logged back in to apps and setting up wifi AP's etc.

edit: I should really move away from Google Launcher so I can back up my desktop config with Nova or something. Can you use Google Now with Nova/Apex yet?

I'm running franco kernel with stock rooted rom and manage to get about 5 hours SoT on average, running the latest update. Might be worth doing a full wipe for those suffering from high battery drain.
