*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

For me its between the Moto X+1, Nexus, iPhone. I need a device that isn't bigger then the Nexus 5, as its basically the limits for me. iPhone is interesting cause iOS8 fixes a lot of problems I had with iOS, and I have a rMBP now so some of the handoff features are interesting.
 
i will be looking at the next nexus device, and will consider any android silver / GPE device.

personally not interested in edited versions of android, or rooting and roming, if someone can offer me stock or near on stock with timely updates i will be interested.

Happy with the N5 for now, did look at the M8 as easy to make an official GPE phone. however i am sure the new Nexus will be out by the end of the year.
 
Finally decided to root my nexus install paranoid + franco, so far loving it just need to olay around with the kernel to try and improve my battery life abit more.

M8 was interesting but it was just a tad big, and slippery.
 
Has anyone else found the inside of the letters falling out of the back if theirs? I've lost 3 of the 4 bits from the X and the curved bit of the U :(.

A few people seem to have that.. I would appear a replacement back from eBay £20 is your beat bet. Maybe call google. They should replace it really. But not sure if they would consider it wear and tear
 
Cracked my screen :( put it on chair outside while sorting out bbq next minute a mate shouts your phones fell off chair i panicked like hell not as bad as i thought, top left corner is cracked with a few stray cracks going across the top and left side touchscreen works fine just ugly seeing the cracks. Will i just need a front glass replacement also anyone know of any videos of how to replace just the front glass and not the whole lcd??
 
My second nexus 5 has signal loss issues now and reboots or resets aren't helping. Are the chances of this sort of issue really this bad?

Mast down in your area, or more likely your provider switching off a mast (which is quite likely if you're on EE, as they're continuing to make the "network more efficient" by removing old overlapping T-Mobile and Orange signals).
