*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Is anyone here running the Lollipop preview (latest) and WhatsApp? I have epic lag issues on WhatsApp only and was wondering if it was just me.

Not had much lag, but loads of crashes when trying to share anything, WhatsApp has always sucked thou.

Cheers. The keyboard is virtually unusable in conversations it lags so badly. I've cleared the cache and itit hasn't made a difference either. It's fine typing everywhere else though.

Replaced my white back with an official black one. The white one was so scuffed and errr non white. When a little pink for some reason

11 months on with my N5.....

Still loving it. I wish however that a new N5 (rather than the huge N6) was on the horizon.

Also - having a nightmare with the power button. For the last few weeks every now and then it must think the button is stuck in, when it's not, and the phone just powers off, powers on, powers off, powers on - etc - in a cycle for hours on end. Right pain. If you shake the phone rapidly it seems to fix it for a few days. Sighs.

So I phoned Google. Who told me I didn't buy it from them and to speak to the operator's store where I purchased it. The operator told me to phone Google. So this time Google told me to phone LG. Who sorted it - however it involves sending the phone away for up to 7 working days doh! hot swap would have been nice lol.

Yeah, Google does a hot swap. Very good customer service. Be careful with LG though - my friend had the same problem with her power button and the repair centre tried to claim water damage - which it wasn't, because she's incredibly careful with her kit. Anyways, after some shouting she got it sorted.

Not tempted to have a go yourself ?

Android Lollipop's going to breathe a new lease of life into the N5 if the proposed improvements in both battery life and camera come to fruition.

Yeah Google hot swaps if you buy it directly from them - I got it via my network operator hence the LG route - I'll keep your story re water damage in mind though thanks for the heads up!

To take it apart and attempt to sort it? it's definitely hardware and not the software on it - so def not for me to try and play about with :)
