*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

My gps is constantly being lost, it's a complete pain in the ass.
I use google maps, is this a common problem with the N5, I don't use it much at all and I'm sure it used to be good?

The N5, or at least early versions, had an issue with GPS. The antenna cable was a bit loose. You could try returning under warranty? I did and the new one worked much better.

thanks for this mate looks very easy :)

It is great tbh, lots of tools in one package and no need to muck about with the Android SDK. Very handy.

Yeah i find adb very daunting to use... So this will help me loads as i only use stock anyway at the moment im on the 5.0 developers preview but wondering if is should go back to 4.4 for ota of the 5.0 next week.

Only time I have 4G is when I was in London last weekend. Everywhere else is usually 1-2 bars of 3G or H+. Murders my battery.

Yeah, I can't really be bothered with ADB to be honest. People at XDA say toolkits are for newbs, but with the Nexus is so flexible a toolkit works great because it can do so many things. It's so easy to prepare the phone for sale for example - just reflash the factory image and lock the bootloader.

Personally re: the full 5.0 release I'm gonna keep running the latest preview and then flash the full factory image when it becomes available. The OTA might take a while to materialise.

So any chance of a price drop soon? I'm not feeling the N6 due to price/size.

I'd say the Nexus 5 will continue with the same pricing. I reckon the Google Play store will have stock again next week of Nexus 5's filled with tasty Lollipop. I think they will keep it as the Nexus 6 is not for everyone either by price or size as it's going to feel a bit large for many people.

That's actually more what I hope as I would prefer to buy a Nexus phone from Google and they are out of the 32GB version at present. So, really, it's fingers crossed until next week! ;)

Actual hoping the Nexus 5 gets dropped and they instead off a Moto X 2014 for the same price as the Nexus 5 in the same colours as the Nexus 6. Makes more sense.

Well I don't need to replace my Galaxy SII immediately but if the Nexus 5 is back with Lollipop I think I will. It's nearly 4 years old. So I hope stock is back in next week.
