*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I had a 5 min play with one at CPW. Compared to my Note 1 it is incredibly fast and it feels really good in hand. It's so much faster than my Note that I think there might be a problem with it!

The screen is gorgeous and the new fonts and icons work very well. My wife a Nokia 920 user wanted to ditch it as soon as she handled the N5. We'll probably be replacing both handsets for these.

I took a few photos in the store and I think they're better than my Note and Nokia 920. Holding fire till a few more reviews are published before buying.

I'm upgrading my note 1 for this. I'll let you know how I get on (not that it can get much worse than it currently is )

Does seem that way.

Just ticked over 13hrs, I've used it today for some sat nav, phone calls, lots of messaging texting and internet use. Screen time just hit 4hrs, battery just about to die.

Deffo lasted longer this time.

4hrs is not a bad screen on time by any means it will get optimized over time tho..

That's a bit of pain. They have put a Nexus 5 logo across the front screen protector. I still have the protector on the front of my Nexus 4 - I just left it on there.

It's not actually that annoying, I've left mine on for now.

it is.. but all the gorilla glass phones I've had I managed to scratch them.. even though they always sit in their own pocket lol.. even my find 5 screen has 2 scratches and it has been sitting in pouch all its life.

Your screen will scratch unless it's made of diamond or something that is extremely resilient to the stuff that's in your pocket.

I'm extremely careful where I place my phone, however my phone (which has Gorilla Glass 1) has 2 or 3 long scratches from sand/lint/other stuff in my pocket.

It's well worth investing in a screen protector, even if it's a cheap one.

Keys don't scratch screens, it's the bits of grit that do.

only bits of sand can scratch gorila glass.. unless you carry diamonds in your pockets which I don't do that often.. metal has lower density than glass anyway..

saphire glass will be the next big thing..

Just called Google and cancelled my order for two. Removed my listing on Ebay as well. Apparently I didn't put a 'reserve' on it whatever that means. That's what I get for never selling on ebay before as well as getting *** Fully Star swear words*** - Will Gill over when the N4 came out and had to buy one on ebay.

That was my point, but how are we to know he's not smuggling Diamonds!
