*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I feel you, I believe with the HTC you could actual switch your phone to the GPe so it wouldn't need root or anything afterwards and would receive OTA updates, and your phone would act as if you brought the GPe versions.

Was not aware of that. I was looking at the s4 at the time.

What so you think the chances are of these ever being "officially" released here?... Or is this something which just isn't ever going to happen?

I think it will. Possibly when they stop the Nexus range.

Yeah, it makes it much more tempting knowing you don't need to flash roms all the time, I still root my devices mainly for titanium back up and a few small tweaks but I haven't used a custom kernel or rom for close too a year.

I really don't see Google dropping it, or I hope not lol.

Lots of rumours a while back. I would not mind if we had an array of flagship phones to chose from but having owned EVERY nexus device I would be sad to see the brand go..

So i'm pretty sure this is going to be my next phone. Question is where to buy from? 16GB will be fine for me.. Seen it £249.95 from somewhere that I'm not sure how legit it is :p and £265 from a big ebay seller..

Cheapest I have seen it of late was Amazon. Been loads on mm for £240 second hand but mint.

Hoping for April. Be well angry if they left it till June for the conference

My guess is a new version of Android for the conference, I would rather they switch to a single release each year so it be much more likely every OEM had all their important phones up too date. Everyone is release now with 4.4.2 be a shame if it was out of date in 3 months, then it takes the OEM another 3 months to update it.

Can I have custom icons on stock launcher or am I best just shoving Nova back on?

Don't think you can, I recently switched back to Nova personally, miss google now always being there but I like my custom icons and so on too much.

Yeah god knows why it takes so long for the likes of Samsung to release an update. Just shows how much butchering they do to get it how they like it.

For me this is the main reason I would only buy a nexus of hopefully Google play edition. Really hope we get that in the UK in June.

The only fix I want is the video hiss bug and I don't see it on that list. Hopefully, it's not a full list and is included because it's a very annoying bug.
