*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Not getting one for sure now, I need 400 hours battery life for when I canoe down the Andes and there is nowhere to charge it (or whatever craziness people were saying after the earlier reviews).

On a serious note I'll be looking to pick one up in a store next week.

The 2012 N7 has a low power screen so it's possible to get good battery life with light loads (basic web browsing and video playback) Idle syncing, gaming and task heavy loads will kill it quicker than most. :p

They won't be. All the Google stuff seems to ship with issues and they never fix them. My original N7 had multi touch issues and they never fixed the bad build quality. I gave up waiting and sold it.

As the old saying goes "Buy Android, buy twice"

Its already fixed. Not sure what the issues you had with the old N7 was, mine currently does not have it.:confused:

Lemme guess Ipads are awesome rite?

The multi touch issue was fixed via a software update released around a month after I first started experiencing it.

All, is there any premium cases available? I love my new nexus 7 and am thinking of chopping my ipad 3 but the cases available so far appear to be cheapo faux leather numbers for £7. Is there any good quality leather or fabric case, that can double as a stand, has magnetic closure and the tablet clips into (like the kindle paper white cover from amazon)

The stuff from Snugg is really nice.
 
Got my Nexus 7 yesterday. Signed into it and put it on charge, completely forgot it would restore my apps from my old TF101 back.

Tried it yesterday even and the Google youtube app constantly locks and reboots the device.

I've now removed all the apps and performed a factory reset see what happens when I get home from work.....not the best of starts :(
 
Another E tailor was promising delivery for tomorrow when they first went up on site, although that seems to have disappeared now.
 
I might order one to have a play with.

It's bound to be faulty (in some tiny way) so I'll have a good excuse to have a free play and return it. :D
