*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Agreed. I moved from an ipad 3 to Nexus 7. The screen size makes it a lot more usable than my s3 but the portability of the 7 inch screen has meant I'm able to carry it in the back pocket of my jeans when out and about and tethered to the s3 for internet :D

Those of you who've moved over from a 10" tablet, how are you finding the 7" screen?

I've got an S4 and a Note 10.1 (not the new one sadly), which I'm thinking of changing for the new N7. I'm wondering though if it's worth it, as the screen is quite a close size to the S4, and if I'd miss the extra screen of the 10"? Thought it would be worth seeing how others who made the change found it.

I use it mainly indoors and the 7" wasn't enough of a big screen for me. I want to use desktop sites in portrait and I found the 10" suited my needs better for this. And with the Xperia Z being so thin and light it makes it enjoyable.

Bigger screen size make makes those pop up apps like YT and browser more worthwhile too.

they told my mate that, happened to be 2 on his right in the middle so he took his back said there was a hardware fault and they changed it without looking not very bright are they :p

I was pretty annoyed!!!

What made it worse is that even thought I had pre-ordered a N7, they *really* tried to flog me an iPad mini. Are they on commission?

Yeah from what I've been reading it seems that a 7" tablet and a 5" phone don't make each other pointless which is good.

Still interested in anyone else that's made the jump from 10" to 7" (or the other way around) and their opinion on the sizes. :)

In the description it says "mirror full phone content with no limitations (Ex. pictures, music movies, etc.)" Does that "Ex." mean for example or excluding?!

Had a Note 10.1 (previously had an Ipad 3) - unfortunately I never got on with the Note 10.1 as it was a bit large for casual use around the house and tbh I hardly ever used the S-Pen lol.

Had an S3 but moved up to the S4 when it was released.

Got a nexus 7 about a week ago - wow! - it's an awesome device. Whilst I use the S4 out and about, at home its the Nexus 7. REALLY surprised at how well it handles 1080p content - i.e. extremely well!.

Compared to the Note 10.1 - its smaller and easier to 'grasp' (ooerrr!), lighter, higher resolution screen etc. However I find the keyboard can be a bit hit and miss sometimes and recommend you test one first if your planning on using it for typing (like on this forum). Both myself and a colleague have found it doesn't always register the really light touches.

In favour of the Note 10.1 though - Nothing touches its S-pen - so if this feature is a must you might want to look at the smaller Note 8.0.

I would say they are both in a league of their own - Nexus for multimedia/personal use and the Note devices more for business / note use

Is it good at pushing HD content to the tv or is it laggy? With the Nexus plugged into the TV is there any way to remotely control it with a phone app?

Ended up pulling the trigger on one of these, should be getting delivered tomorrow.

Sold my Note 10.1 (with case/memory card) for £200, so it's only costing me £40 to swap. Seemed like it was worth a shot!

Huzzah, just got a text from my uncle and he's bought me a Nexus 7 from NYC.
Think it's come to around £190 for the 32GB.

I've bought my case, and will pick it up this weekend or early next week.
I cannot wait, hopefully this will replace my laptop for pretty much everything.

How's everyone finding the new nexus tablet then? I'm thinking of getting one next week from Tesco. 32gb is £191 and 16gb is £159.

Watched my first movie last night via Netflix on the device, was brilliant :D

I ended up returning my 32gb and getting the LTE version.

A question is there any tarrifs that is purely data only? All I seem to find it you can get this many calls, this many text and 1gb data, etc.

I dont need any calls or text :(
