*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

It doesn't work in practice - My network scans show the interface as being up :p

Whilst I'm here ..... I'm looking on the bay and the rainforest and see some cheap wireless chargers but am unsure about them.

Any feedback on a decent (cheap) charger would be wonderful

I've got the Gmyle wireless mini charging pad that I use with my N5 & N7. Works a treat, is fairly small and doesn't give me any hassle in starting to charge when I drop the phone or tablet on it.

The phone is in the official bumper case and works no problem. The tablet I now use named, although I know it won't charge through a folio case I gave to herself.

Got mine from Amazon for about 19 quid all in.

There are others available, but this one does me fine.

Hi all,

I have recently added my VPN to tablet which gives me access to my VMs which run a few things

Obviously on a window machine you would create the connection but edit the VPN properties and disable "use default gateway on remote network" to still allow you to browse when you are connected to the VPN

Is there a way to do this on the built in nexus VPN connection feature? I can't see it, obviously when i connect to it from the nexus it will only allow me to get to the other network, I can't browse the internet via my local internet breakout here.

Either that or is there a good VPN client I can get from the app store that's reccomended that will allow me to do this and have better features?

Many thanks :)

Anyone got any ideas?

Any one else have issues with the wake/sleep with a case?

I got a case which is supposed to work with it but to say it's hit and miss would be to massively overstate how oftern it works!

Works fine with the Poetic Slimline case. Different from iPad in that it it needs to touch the left of the device for it to sleep, not the right.

Hmmm, after a bit of experimenting - with a frog fridge magnet, lol - it turns out there is nothing wrong with the wake/sleep function, just the positioning of the magnet in the case it seems...

A slightly alteration with some magnetic tape should solve the issue with any luck...

I bought mine yesterday - now to wait till it's delivered.
I originally had the Lenovo Ideapad K1 -but it's very problematic; freezes all the time, services always crashing, bad backlight, the battery is dead (I often have to take the back off and take the connector off the battery and plug it back to even boot the thing) Glad to get rid of it.
