*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Hi All

I was greeted with the system update notification the other day but wanted to check something before I went ahead with it.

Currently I'm on 4.42 and rooted using the wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit. Is it safe to run the OTA or do I need to unroot first and then if so can I reroot after?

I'd like to know this too, although I've got a custom recovery installed too (TWRP). Would I need to revert to the stock recovery before installing the OTA update?

Go for a sun subscription, get a free n7 2013 32gb for £86 total, just remember to cancel at the right time.

Also another way to tell is weight - sub 300g for 2013, more for 2012.

Is it just a case of cancelling before 12 months is up? Can't see any particular time mentioned for cancelling to avoid paying any further fees.

Thanks.

edit - ignore, 15 days before. Hmm will have to remember that.

The terms are confusing given one term seems to suggest you can cancel at any time after the first fourteen days and another suggests you can cancel fifteen days before the end. I would guess that you could cancel at any time after the first fourteen days and not be charged for more than the first year (which IIRC is all taken as one payment) and I would guess that you have to cancel fourteen days before the second payment (although IIRC this is only a month at £8 or so) to avoid it being taken.

(IIRC you can completely cancel before 14 days and get a refund/no money will be taken and you'll obviously get no tablet)
Some HUKD people have asked on live chat and taken screenshots - I'd suggest doing the same :)
Quite tempted by this tbh. :)

EDIT: I don't know when it ends? If it is still around just before IO in SanFran or even after then chances are we'll have official confirmation/ or at least rumours of the new nexus tablet, possibly called "flounder" and maybe premium and by HTC - ideally I could order, see what I think of flounder and then cancel if I'm willing to wait - and probably pay more due to newness, HTC etc.

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

Hi guys,
Been having real issues with connecting my Nexus to my PC. I am running Win 8.1 and my Nexus is on 4.4.3 and no matter what I try it just won't show up and allow me to move things to and from it!

If I change it from MTP to PTP in storage settings it pops up but otherwise it doesn't work!

Any ideas?

Probably already been asked and answered, but can anyone recommend a case for the Nexus 7 2013 that both offers good protection (especially for the screen), and still lets it charge wirelessly?

I posted mine somewhere - I did extensive research on cases and this one looks and fits the best. Was quite cheap and works with my Nokia wireless charger.

Try and search my user name and nexus 7 case?

it's a

MiniSuit Classic Smart Case for Google Nexus 7 FHD (2nd Gen 2013) Black

best case you can buy IMO

Do you have a PIN on it? If you do it won't show until you unlock it.

Looking at picking one of these up 2nd hand for home/personal use. Is £95 a good price for the 32GB model with all accessories and only 7 month old?

People spoke to them and they said it's the 2013 model?
