*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Everyone that I know that has a Nexus 5, 7, 7 2013 seems to have issues when upgrading from KitKat. I just flashed the images manual and it is flawless. Might be worth a full reset.

Is there a way to get the unlock ring back?

My nexus 7 updated, all is fine, but I like the unlock ring that was there before. Don't like the specific swipe up to unlock.

I've not had any issues yet that I'm aware of but have a simple question. Lollipop was installed in an OTA update on Monday. The App Drawer is still a black background as it was with KitKat. Is this normal with the stock launcher on the Nexus 7?

Yes as the tray is from Google Now launcher. You would need to request the white tray from the developers of whatever launcher you are using.

Apps (but not data... *Sigh*) backup if you have it turned on in options. Personally I use Photos to backup my pics.

Doing an upgrade should be safe though.

The only launcher I have on the tablet is the stock one that came with the Nexus. I have tried Google Now but deleted it. Other than that the tablet has no other launchers and just a few apps on it.

Hence my question, I am keen to know if other Nexus 7 owners with the stock launcher have a black app drawer background or whether it's white (after the Lollipop update). Or based on your response the app drawer background on a stock Nexus 7 would still be black?

EDIT: In answer to my own question it looks like the stock Nexus 7 launcher leaves the app drawer background black: http://youtu.be/vj-D9X7GEzI The only videos of the Nexus with a white background are ones where someone is using the Google Now launcher.

Bit odd, but I just put my Nexus screen right up against my ear and near the top I can hear this very faint pulsating electronic/clicking noise (no it's not my pulse). As this doesn't have any moving parts what could it be?

at a guess, the camera does actually move when it takes a photo or when it's stablising. maybe this?

Same here. I think the lag issues were with the 2012 version not 2013.

I've read all about the poor buggers with 2012 bricks, they're not a happy bunch!

Pretty sure I've read it was with the 2013 as well and people have been dropping back to 4.4.4 ....

Personally I'm dreading getting the update notification!
