Google's gonna stop selling the n1 via web store.

"From retail to viewing. Once we have increased the availability of Nexus One devices in stores, we'll stop selling handsets via the web store, and will instead use it as an online store window to showcase a variety of Android phones available globally."

I might need to buy a bluetooth desktop dock sharpish.

ouch?

it just means google are going to roll them out in shops instead (i sort of mis read it). lol

It's a user interface for a phone not some sort of non stop entertainment system

lol I know, I just prefer what I'm using now, one screen with a shiny dock and launcher with power controls, guess I like things minimalistic and boring hehe :D

75mins and 250 texts? lol

cheers VR, does seem to have some really nice features on a quick glance (FLAC support!)

how easy is it to add things ontop, things like trackball wake etc

Nexus One available through vodafone now.

Cheapest way to get it is is £30 a month over 18 months + £99 for handset = £639.

With £130 cashback via topcashback, that's £509.

The contract includes 1GB internet and wifi hotspot access. 75 mins and 250 texts.

Better than paying £450+ through google's store.

Alternatively just pay £350 for a Desire.

The whole point about nexus is the ability to root with ease and also getting instant updates. Seeing what happened to the Hero the wait for an update could be quite long.

Nexus one has also been out longer with one of the best android modders working on it for quite some time. Paul@Modaco has a long time till he catches up and is limited by what HTC release.

The Desire Kernel source was released last week (rumour has it after pressure from modders toward HTC) and right now people are working on porting Cyanogen roms to it and doing everything the Nexus One has been able to do.

This is surprising because nobody expected HTC to release the source any time soon.

The Nexus One advantage will soon be gone even though I still wouldn't mind having a N1 as well!
