Still solid specs, jus thought the cpu woulda been a higher clock 1.5 or 1.8. Is there any word when cpu makers will make a cortex a15 reference product?
Also a bit off topic, but with setting a 1280 x 720p standard on smartphones, can we expect the tablet counter part to have a res bump. Can't find any news of future tablet release specs.

CPU is as good as the competition i.e. Exynos. GPU is about 30% worse.
It is old, but they've been increasing the clock speed gradually. 200Mhz in Hummingbird to, 300Mhz in Droid 3 and Optimus 3D, to hopefully ~400Mhz in this.
Matches the CPU but worse GPU.
The CPU in the iphone 4s is only 800mhz and so this should be upto 50% better. The GPU does get destroyed as you said.

The galaxy s2 is the better spec phone it seems. Big let down. The screen and ics are the only things going for this.
Interesting. Based on what you guys have said I'm certainly not going to cry over the specs, Android 4.0 is what I want to know about.
Is it though? They are just numbers. People seem to be getting worked up about very minor differences in spec. Is it really that important..?

This phone was supposed to be cutting edge though? It seems the iPhone has it licked no problem. They can't rely on ics to sell it as a lot of other phones will get that one way or another too.
This reminds me of the iPhone4s specs announcement where people cried a river or 2 because the specs weren't considerably higher

I think the OG OMAP4460/70 was designed to use UMC's high-K transistors for the higher speeds. (1.5GHz - 1.8GHz and ~400MHz for the GPU) only UMC validated high-K @ 45nm, apart from Intel who use it for all 45nm cpus (Atom not included
)Look's like that hasn't quite worked out and it's just a standard 4430 with a 1.2GHz overclock, the GPU won't be running at 384MHz out the box.

It's more of a Google development phone to show off the capabilities of LCS rather than the being the latest in cutting edge technology. There will be some of that but you won’t have all the junk put on by manufactures on top of the O/S. Being a Google phone you will always get the latest O/S software updates ahead of the crowd.
People don't buy phones based on spec. Also, who decided this phone was going to be "cutting edge"?
Why is it only android users that "spec-whore" this much?? iPhone users and WP7 users don't complain half as much

Pointless having a ton of power when there is nothing that uses the full potential, look at the desire and GS 1 all still very quick and do what everyone wants still.
A decent GPU and dual with at least 1GB RAM is more than enough, oh and lets not forget a damn good screen which this has.

Are people getting upset because the GPU may be a bit inferior? The iphone 4 showed what could be done with inferior specs, it's still a very slick phone to use.
A more powerful GPU wouldn't have made that much difference in reality would it, better for some games perhaps?
I'm certainly not deterred, still eagerly awaiting the 3am stream and the future video comparisons.

Surprised they've put the OMAP 4460 in it and not the 4470, the latter would make far more sense from the point of putting something competitive out there.
