NHL 14-15 season

The fixtures tonight could wrap it all up - so many critical match ups - it's like it was planned all along!

Ottawa vs NYR will be a tough must win
Detroit need a win too against Montreal and Tampa have a chance to even things up at the top.
Florida season is over but will be keen to finish well against the Bruins

Blues v Hawks is always a classic - 2 points and the Blues get 1st unless Nashville beat the Wild - a big game for both teams.

Jets could help seal the Kings fate if they fail to beat the Flames.
Flames have the best ROW of the 3 teams so they just need to land on equal points so pressure is on Kings and Jets.

Then tomorrow we have Pens vs NYI so a huge 2 days to bring us close to the regular season end.

This could get messy!!!

lol i have real reason to dislike the Kings - but screw them!
I like what the Flames have done this season so very pleased to see them kick LA out.

Bruins lost too so couldn't have went any better for me last night

I'd say Ducks are fave to win Home ice advantage for the full playoffs given their respective final games but still gives both teams something to play for.

The kings are the ducks Rivals so I have a default hatred for them :p

I've put 2 bets on the Ducks to win both western and Stanley cup but that's pretty much betting for my own team and hoping they will win it.

I have a feeling that the Rangers will take it all the way, seeing a few of their highlights they seem like a strong team going into the post season.

We're see though, If the Ducks get to the final I think i'll be taking a few half days to watch lol

Oops I meant no real reason to dislike them but not sure why I do really.

But yes Rangers are prob faves from the East and i'd put Hawks and Blues as the 2 faves in the West but really almost any of the teams have a chance so it's a tight call.

Be interesting to see the final bracket this weekend

It's also nice to see a bunch of teams in who didn't make it last season.

It's going to be a great final day tomorrow. The east is really heating up now.

Ottawa are at Philidelphia, Pittsburg are at Buffalo and Boston are at Tampa.

Also if the Sens win and Red Wings lose then 3rd spot might happen.

Detroit are at Carolina.

Well that's that then - here is my entry for the bracket challenge.

In the West, I see the results following the seeding for the most part - but expect Hawks to beat Preds and Blues to get through a tough series against the Wild.
Jets are a hard hitting tough team but I think the Ducks are well placed to beat them.
Flames did well to get in but can't see them progressing.

STL v CHI will probably be the most exciting fixture in the playoffs for the West and this will be the critical part for the Blues. If they get passed CHI, I think they finally go and win the cup but it'll be a very tough test.

In the East, I see Tampa as the only team to really cause NYR problems and think they will beat them if they make it that far.

So my prediction is Blues beating Lightning in a 7 game final.

Interesting to see you both put Nashville over Chicago.

I think in the Western Bracket, the Preds are the real unknown quantity.
Will we see the Preds from the 1st half of the season, or the 2nd half?

That's a pretty huge contrast. I've went for their recent slump being something they can't rebound from but it'll be a very interesting match-up.

If they do turn it on once more and beat the Hawks, it'll create a very tough series for the Blues - and I might then make the Ducks the faves over the Blues if they did get past the Preds.

The problem for the central teams is that they have tougher opponents in all rounds so come the conference final they are likely to be more worn down than the Ducks. jets will be hard, tough games for the Ducks but the next round vs Cannucks or Flames will be easy for them IMO so they will reach the finals un-scathed compared to the central teams.

So it's no surprise to see the Ducks as the fave to make it to the final.

I think we are in for a surprise with the preds. they have a strong enough team to pull it off. in honesty, it is the series i will be watching the closest.

blues v wild is going to be a tough one. the wild are on point at the moment and if they can shut down the right wing threats from oshie and tarasenko then they should be in for a short series. That said, when bouwmeester and shattenkirk are on it, it could give the wild a hard time scoring.

as long as the rangers or pens don't win then I'm gonna be happy

Yeah they certainly have the team - it all depends on how much their recent run carries over.

The Blues v Wild game on Sat night wasn't really a good indicator as both teams rested a lot of key players.
IMO the Blues are the better team but there is little between the top 5 in the central this year so really there are no faves and no upsets whoever wins any of the games.

The Blues need to stop taking so many penalties though. It feels like it recent games they spent so much time on the PK - which helped bring them up from one of the worst in the league to one of the best.
Saying that, a lot of the calls were BS too so it's not as bad as the numbers suggest unless they get the same luck in the playoffs.

Can't wait for it all to kick off.

Best get my DNS settings updated because they are pretty much all on blackout in the UK.

Do you guys have a good method to change the DNS settings for this?

Either on Chromebook, PS3 or PS4?

I can alternatively just watch it at work which is just around the corner and rack up bonus hours...lol but I'd rather watch at home!

I currently use unlocator, roughly about £4 a month and can be stopped anytime so once the season is over i'll stop it till it begins again, for £4 its hassle free and I'm happy to pay it.

Pretty simple to use and have guides for all sort of devices, if you have dyndns setup it will update ur IP whenever your dns record updates :)

With the preds I just really took what the teams have done over the season, blackhawks have sat just above mid table and haven't really shown any push where the preds came out of no-where and stole 1st for a few weeks.

Pengs will be knocked out first round I think, could easily surprise everyone by playing like an NHL team but they seem to rely on Crosby and Fleury way too much, watching one of their games was just embarrassing to be honest, commentators bumming fluery "oh hes a brick way, nothings getting past him".... yeh apart from the 3 goals.. and well their against the rangers who seem to be in fire at the moment.

But as always with Hockey, anything can happen!
