NHL 15

Yeah me too. I'd definitely rent it first and see how you get on, assuming you can get a copy rented fairly quickly.

The ultimate team stuff is fun, but my knowledge of NHL players is limited to the big names and the Canucks, so I pretty much just go on their ratings only, as that's all I know about the players :)
 
Looks like the best way to go then. I'll cancel my order and put it on Boomerang for now and see if they send it. I have Metro at the minute but didn't like 2033 at all so will give Last Light a try and either send it back or complete it over the weekend.

So NHL should be the next one as there isn't anything else on there right now.

Well I guess you don't really need knowledge of players so won't really affect anything. I often go for players I like even if they are not the best anyway.

My first buy would be TJ Oshie of course, partly due to my Blues bias but also because he's a brilliant player and a decent bloke off the ice too. Can't be putting in ego maniacs in my team!

I found out via the demo that I suck at the game though. I won (just) on Rookie and lost on Pro but mostly just down to pressing the wrong buttons half the time.
 
All the stuff they have removed is pretty disgusting. It doesn't bother me much because I'm just going to play Online, HUT and Be a GM but its still pretty bad.
 
Even those modes are lacking compared to NHL 14 though, which is why I was so dissapointed.

I enjoyed the demo, I have no idea what half the stuff is thats been removed so I don't know what to do now, £44 is a lot to drop on a game thats been crippled, I tend to only play the career modes in these types of games..

Hmmm as the Ps4 version I played looked and played great IMO
 
That's what's annoying, the gameplay itself is fantastic. I'll probably pick it up anyway, but I'm not going to pay full retail price for it, I'll wait until I can get it second hand.

If you compare NHL to FIFA and Madden in terms of the game modes, even something like Ultimate Team, they're world apart.
 
Apart from EASHL missing it looks like they've cut a lot of the fluff out. The Winter Classic etc is fun the first time but it's hardly going to be missed is it. I'd hazard a guess that the most played offline mode is probably Be a GM and the most played online mode probably HUT.
 
The gameplay is excellent... this game is like pure pool in some ways. addictive gameplay but seems sparse on modes, but then I really do not know what really has been cut. myself with pure pool the game play was or is so good I think the sparse modes just means I enjoy what's there more..

nhl 15 on ps4 looks and plays great imo. hmmm still unsure now after such negative reports circulating about

You can get it for £39.97 from gamestop. I know it's not much of a difference from £44 but i thought I'd mention it :)

Anyway i have pre ordered NHL 15 for ps4. I only play a couple of modes on nhl games and they are all still there so thankfully I'm not really affected by them dropping a lot of the features. I can understand why other people are angry though, if they did the same to Fifa I wouldn't be impressed!

The good thing about NHL games is that they hold their price well. If i find out that i don't like it then i should be able to sell it for a very small loss at worst. Loved the demo though :cool:

Good to see they're looking to improve the HUT UI as well. I think I may well end up getting this after all, the gameplay really is damn good. I scored a bloody lovely goal the other night just before my trial ran out, it left me wanting more.

Regarding last gen I imagine all ps3/xb360 EA Sports releases will be the 'Legacy' versions, i.e. just updated rosters.

I'm so bloody annoyed, I went through this whole palava this morning and I just couldn't get it bought from the US store. I ended up just re-buying it from the UK store with the credit I got from getting it refunded previously.

THEN, after I'd done that it crossed my mind that I could have just used the Canada store, seeing as I lived there for a year and have all of the billing stuff set up already. I could have saved myself about £10-15 or so. Idiot! I even have $4 already in my account! I'll do this with FIFA to make up for it.

Anyway, it's done, I'll just deal with it and try to enjoy the game now.
 
Here's a goal I scored during the trial which I've finally been able to upload. I like it because of the puck chop which I managed to bounce off the boards to my defenseman. Also helps that it went in off the post (I like the sound :))

 
So for now, I'll be better off sticking with NHL13 on my 360? I'm a beast on BAP leading the Pens first line with Malkin/Neal on my wings.
