He's an absolute POS. I wish the NHL would take a firmer approach to players like this. The trouble is, he will be back on the ice mid season and do the exact same thing again.

The guy had his shoulder towards torres, so all Torres had to do was go shoulder to shoulder. He would have still levelled him but doubt he'd be penalised. Seeing as he raised his shoulder to go for the head.....he's outta there.

He knew exactly what he was doing, can see he's not even bothered about the puck.

Finishing a check sure but going for the head is just stupid and dangerous, I'm surprised teams keep picking him up.
 
he's at San Jose. Its hardly a shining beacon of vibrant tradition and hockey culture.

such a crap franchise.
 
Ducks have their opener against them this saturday.

Hopefully we can smash them 5-0 for it.

Also Hockey Seasons started! :D, Had some remaining holiday left over so I've booked about 5 half days so I can watch the 1am games and still go into work the next day :p

 
that is excellent commitment. I have booked tomorrow and Friday off. Gonna watch the Hawks smash the Rags tonight and hopefully Flyers upset Tampa on Thursday.

Well Saturday night the Ducks are on at 3:30am... deciding whether to redbull it through the night or get some rest and wake up early. :o
 
This is why I support an east coast team. Staying up for west coast games must really suck. Even Saturday Matinee games must be on at daft times for you lot.

Yeh I didn't really think it through, but I've supported the Ducks since back in school so stuck with them. Usually in the winter its fine as its still dark at 5/6am. I found out in march/april just gone that it sucks as it gets bright early and screws your sleep up.

it's great though, you wake up during the week and turn on the games :D
well for me at least anyway as I usually get up at 5-5.30am
 
It was very close. Blackhawks defenseman didn't seem too on point.

The Habs leafs game was excellent. Leafs goalkeeping is crap but the rest of the team seem to be rocket powered since they got Babcock
 
GCL is the best way of doing it. £90 for all season + playoffs plus £1.30 a month for an adfreetime sub so you can get around blackouts (useful if you want to watch US Netflix too)
 
Going to New York and am hoping to get some NY Rangers tickets! Fingers crossed. Passively support the Flyers, no real connection or reason other than they were the first team I saw win a game when it used to be on on Channel 5 during the early hours years ago.
 
GCL all the way, majority of games we watch the following day rather than live so works really well for us. Haven't missed a caps game in a few seasons now :)
 
Season opening thoughts guys?

I've only watched Leafs, Devils, Jets and Flyers so far.

This 3on3 overtime is nailbiting stuff. I'm delighted with how hard we took it to Tampa. We look like a totally different team. Seems our new coach is really doing some good stuff.

If anyone missed it, just go and watch the 3on3 OT of the Flyers and Lightning game. I was screaming at my TV at 4am. My neighbours have told me they are unhappy.
