Blues were not that great but played a solid game but to win with that goal....shoot the puck though! Impressed with Parayko though so far. Most shots in a game for a rookie since Ovi

Panthers tried doing the same on Sunday night. Think Anderson has learn't from that lesson though.

Brilliant game Sunday, glad I took the day off for it. Ducks played like they should be and what they were playing like last year.

2 goals in 12 seconds was awesome :D Although their first goal was a cracking 1 timer.


Alternate Jersey has grown on me a lot, the shade of orange is a lot better than I originally thought. Will be getting one when I go US in January :)

Last nights 1st period just re-enforced what I said a few weeks back.
Elliot has been good for us for many years and he is a solid No.2 but Allen has proven he deserves the No1 spot and if the Blues are going to mount a serious playoff challenge you want a clear No.1 goalie in there early.

Due to the flight mishap and travelling all through the night after a tough game against LA that was a very rough 1st period. That's where you need Elliot to come in and play well.

Allen still came in and made 26 or more saves to give us a chance and despite soooo many injuries we still came back and won.

Insane game.


But surely this is Allen as the No.1 goalie now for the Blues? Not much more he can do to prove his worth


it's time - get the team playing for 1 guy who gives you a chance to win almost every game and make a deep playoff run and even challenge for the cup for a change.
 
just caught the blues game in condensed version. looked very intense. I know i harped on about it last year but I really do believe that Tarasenko is going to be a huge force to be reckoned with over the next few years.
It is like watching Fedorov in terms of his movement and play style.

It is actually refreshing to watch a team working with nice unit movement and executing plays nicely.

After watching the diabolical play of the flyers this year, watching games that arent dump and chase turnover fests is a welcome thing.
 
Yup Tarasenko is a joy to watch - as you say, to the viewer he's one of those players in sport who just stand out with the skill and talent they possess...and the calmness in which they put it all on display.

With all the injuries, and the tough schedule I've been very happy with how the Blues are playing at the minute. The young guys have come in to fill the gaps and have done a great job.

Whatever the case, it's looking like an interesting season all round.
 
2 more winning games for the ducks. Seems they've found their stride a bit. A little more improvement to get them back to where they were last year.

Sharks game was a good match to watch. Low scoring (1-0) but some good play from both teams.

Mistakes happen, you can see from the look on Getzlaf's face that he was disapointed in himself.

We only lost 1 point from it, the reaction from the coyotes fan's on the facebook post "Ducks won't make the playoffs" or "they chocked like they did last year in stanley cup" is a bit stupid. Still another 60 odd games to go and their team are only 2 points infront of us... and not to mention the fact of where did they come last year? :p

(To save everyone looking they came 29th :p)

Tell me about it.

Ducks get a good wining 3/4 games, look amazing then decide that nah don't worry we're lose to teams we need to beat.


Saying that I'm still enjoying watching at late times, got tonights game at 3am (bed at 12 and get a few hours nap) and got half days next week for the midnight games. I feel i've already got my moneys worth out of GCL, probably watched 10/16 games so far.

Well we played a bit better last night, although it was against another struggling team so don't think its worth much.

Defense seems to be coming along nicely, quite a young defense but maybe a few years I think they might be one of the best in the league.

4th line yesterday was cracking, had Cogliano, Horcoff and Hagelin I believe which all 3 had a lot of speed and made a very good line. Kesler even though looking for his first goal decided to pass an empty netter to Getzlaf which got him going on his first goal.

Can see them getting better and their act together more but they are leaving it pretty late now.
 
man, i want to go to the states for a few nhl games so badly.

might try and do it next year. thinking a trip to new york with a drive down to philly for a game or two.

although apparently our coach thinks that putting Voracek on 3rd line is a good idea... whatever he is doing with Gostisbehere seems to be working.

So wanting to go to Cali and watch a week of the Ducks play... although maybe next year considering this season so far...

Going florida in January but its a bit of a trek to get to the stadium just to see a game.
 
I'm contemplating a trip over early Feb to see 3 St Louis home games.
But i'm in the middle of job hunting which will involve relocating 250-300 miles in the UK or emigrating to Iceland so I don't want to commit to anything yet.

I'd love to go though I've wanted to for years.

Another reason I haven't before is St Louis is hardly a unique holiday spot...probably better to go somewhere I can enjoy more during the day and maybe catch the Blues in an away game, plus a couple of other teams.

One day!!
