It was me who sussed him, what he put is exlicitly covered in the guidelines we work to and a 2 day sus is what you get

as for whether he called me a tool, I am not sure I will ever recover from the trauma :p
 
Let's all build and bridge and get over it. A warning might of been fairer but rules are rules :)

It is 2 days for partially starred version of what he put and 7 for unstarred, if that rule is relaxed then fine but until then that is what is the norm :)
 
The modding on here is appalling at times in all honesty. Even sometimes ignoring the rules THEY wrote to make it seem like they were right in their actions. Don't get me wrong the modding is fine most of the time and I got a warning for using a word that wasn't starred out once (Which is the correct way to go about it) so it just seems to depend on the mood of the mod judging you.

No, it depends on the word used that hasn't been starred.

This is all standard practice. I'm confident every mod here knows his job well and does it to the best of his ability. If you have any issue with that you take it up with the mod team off the forums.

It's pretty bloody easy.

I read it as calling himself a tool in sarcastic fashion. If I thought he'd called you one he would have had another sus :)

If that's the guideline the mods have been given, then fair enough. Is there any differentiation for first offences? Perhaps better use of the infraction system would allow for fairer punishments for first offences? A tiered system based on those?

If the punishment were listed under the offence in the rules, it would avoid the confusion, but that seems a bit silly to me.

I got suspended for something that i said 3 month's ago!. It seems some of the mods are a little trigger happy.

After emailing Rotty (who suspended me), who promised to get back to me, failed "to get back to me".

I got done for asking someone if they were mentally retarded? with a question mark.

So can the rules on swearing be made nice and clear as your mod guidelines are? as the rules do not read that way, or are not infact close to that. As i posted already, the rules imply that a ban is possible if the infraction is considered serious, after the offending post has been deleted. In my case, the post was edited, not deleted, and still ban.. you can see how this contradicts the rules as written?

so if you call a mod a tool (the harshest of insults i know!!) you get suspended?

daily i see on member call another member something, and nothing happens so why is it any different when its directed at a mod?

Mean while Homophobia, Sexism and Racism goes largely unpunished, but no, good job making sure the all important kids can't see swearing on this individual forum.
 
Yeah, the mods are crazy trigger happy. A little too far most of the time. Almost sad in places.

But there are many other more important issues in the world out there to worry about!
