NieR: Automata announced for PC, game shipping Early 2017 on both platforms

I've only played the demo on PS4 and watched some of the story on YT but I can already agree it's superb. One of the rare mixes of great gameplay, great story and fantastic music. I'll definitely pick it up in a couple of months because I have three big games to finish and I don't want anything to distract me from what is probably the most unique gaming experience in the last couple of years.

EDIT: It might be on par with Zelda, which i'm playing now, in this regard

I was looking forward to giving this a go last night. My plans were to start the download and it'll be ready by the time the little one was in bed. But it seems VirginMedia had other ideas, no tinterwebs at all last night, bugger!

its weird, fullscreen 4k and really bad fps (i'm guessing 30fps even without vsync), windowed (with lovely white bar at the top of the screen and hoops to get the mouse to stop being visible in the center of the screen) 60fps

consoleportitis?

I play at 3440x1440 fullscreen and capped at 60fps with no drops at all. All runs really well and I detest frame locks as a rule!

just an update, windows borderless gaming works a treat. Still not a maxxed 60fps with my system, buts its kinda non-gaming mobo with a 1080 strapped to it, so that might be it

Just went through the amusement park boss. One of the most amazing and layered encounters I've ever seen paired with probably the most amazing and weirdly beautiful music I've heard in a game (or pretty close).

This game may not have top-notch graphics but everything else is just brilliant. It's a bloody weird experience and really unlike most games on the market.

This game is so good, I finished all the main endings about 2 weeks ago. My gf has a PS4 so I was going to pick up a copy for her at the weekend but none of the stores I went to actually had a copy. Also Tesco has a top 20 PS4 chart without Nier on it at all. Such a shame that this game is a sleeper hit.

I hope steam give a decent sale price to attract some fresh blood to the series.

Finished
Route A and started Route B. If I didn't know beforehand there was a Route B, I'd be pretty ******* astounded (reading about games before playing them sucks). Route A took me 20h and I kinda regret having done only 22% of the sidequests. Will have to get them during this run and when I unlock chapter select. I also intend to get all the joke endings, got two so far

Very strong contender for bloody Game of the Generation so far. The OST crushes everything and the gameplay is the most intense and satisfying in recent years. On top of that, fascinating and outlandish atmosphere, solid and cleverly implemented RPG elements, amazing combat animations and lots of clever little details and nods to the player.

The story/narrative? Well, "normal" games simply cannot compete with what Yoko Taro does and how he does it. It's not even that it's the best story that's ever been told (I don't know the whole story yet) but I predict most other plots will feel pretty formulaic to me after
I'm done with all the main routes, endings and the rest of the lot
for a lot of different reasons that are best to be uncovered on your own. I knew I would like it the moment I read the in-game message telling me that "This game doesn't support autosave. Figure out how to save on your own.":p A couple of hours later, I was lost in its beautiful quirkiness. Quality-wise (music, gameplay, story) it might well be the most even and focused game I've played in recent years, which is quite an achievement considering the budget and relatively little hype around it.

There’s a lot to say about it and if you want to give it a try now (I'm afraid most people probably won't) or when it ends up in the bargain bin, please don’t read my spoilers or anything else about the game (including reviews). You’ll have a better experience that way. I can only parrot Sterling on this one: “If history forgets this game, then Please star out swear words-schizo history” (don’t read that ******** review either, he said too much:p)

Has the pc version been patched yet? I heard it had many many problems which some users fixed via mods
Played well over 100 hours and not had a single issue with it. Seriously underated game that really needs to be played to see the beauty of a gem that Nier: Automata is.

+1. Frankly, the thought that so many people will miss out on its bonkers atmosphere, ideas and writing is bothering me slightly and I usually just don't care:p

Mate, exactly the same for me. Normally I find a gem of a game and don't care if others play it but in this instance, I really do want others to play it. Something special with this one and PEOPLE PLEASE PLAY IT :D
