Night Owls

In the middle of a madly busy work period. So browsing forums and having a small drink to relax. Sadly the only mixer I have is a can of Dr Pepper... so it's Whisky and Dr Pepper then

Raising a glass to a fallen comrade tonight. Chose gin. This won't end well.

Care to share some more detail?

Wish I had more detail to share, but at this juncture I just don't know what happened.

For context, I work on tankers for an oil major as an engineering officer, and received an email today from the manning office stating that one of my former shipmates, Rory, a deck officer in his mid-twenties had tragically passed away.

I spent the three months from September - December last year off the coast of Malaysia working alongside the chap in question, and he was one of the most outgoing, down to earth and genuinely funniest chaps I ever had the privilege of working with. His passing is a genuine loss to the fleet. :(

RIP Rory, gone, but never forgotten.

I'll raise a glass too. RIP.

Morning all.

Just watched a program on CIA 'enhanced' interrogation methods namely waterboarding among other methods and their usefulness. The CIA ex head saying it was useful means of gaining intelligence and Mi6 saying they knew nothing at all about what went on. Nasty stuff.
