Nikkon Mirrorless incoming

Almost guaranteed they will be sony sensors. Question is, did Sony sell them ones as good as the ones they are using?
This is like nvidia making cards for ati, I can’t see them giving anything better than they use themselves.

Rumour has it that it's the 45mp sensors from the 850 on at points on it. Not as many as Sony though .

Spec varies between the a7iii and a7riii so basically it's a rebadged Sony a7iii from what I've seen so far.

No bad thing and will keep Nikon users happy

That’s true but I still can’t see them sending better sensors than their own.

Happened lots of times in the past, and frequently Nikon has released the next sensor generation ahead of Sony. Sony and Nikon have cross-licensing deals in place, and a lot of the IP belongs to Nikon. This is why Nikon have achieved similarlu amazing dynamic range even when using a sensor fabbed by Toshiba for example.

Cameras like the D90, D3X, D800, D820 etc. Had better sensors than the Sony equivalent. Nikon has a lot of their own technology they use with thr Sony designs.

Really dont like the location of the lens release. Looks even bigger than the current Sonys as well. Look forward to some reviews.

Ergonomics is far more important than size. The Sony bodies are just not that comfortable to hold with a bigger lens.

My biggest concerns will be autofocus and the EVF. the latest sony bodies still don't match a D850/D5.

To you maybe. For me size is far more important, the reason im holding onto my A7R is because the newer A7's have grown. Would love the better AF and built in stabilisation but not at the expense of size and weight.
Would have loved Nikon to make something smaller, im not overly invested in Sony yet so a change wouldnt have been difficult.

Not much in it spec wise it would appear:- https://www.techradar.com/news/nikon-z7-vs-sony-alpha-a7r-iii

I guess it will be interesting to see how it performs.

It looks like its going to come down purely to whether or not you prefer the feel of the Sony or the Nikon, and lens selection. Because when it comes to comparing specs its basically just trading blows.

Good, this is what it should be IMO.

I agree the main shock is a single card slot...just...WHY?!

Maybe they did that to drive more to the D850 and will push people to the Z6/7 later on?

This article has a chart outlining what lenses Nikon will introduce over the next couple of years.

I wonder how much the F lens adapter will be? I think that has to be critical right? Or am I wrong?
Depends really. If you're just starting out then the ones which will release will keep you busy enough for now.

If you're a pro with a Nikon lens catalog who wants to switch, then yeah it will have a deciding factor.

Just read its got built in 5-axis VR. Same as the Olympus system. Nice!
